Un día en el que no creo algo con piedra y metal parece incompleto. Coleccionar rocas y conchas cuando era niño se ha convertido en una fascinación por transformar esos objetos en joyas. Aprendí los conceptos básicos de joyería de artistas locales mientras vivía en Grecia y Turquía a los 20 años. Soy en su mayoría autodidacta, pero a lo largo de los años, he estudiado con varios instructores de joyería talentosos * para ampliar mis conocimientos y elevar mi trabajo en orfebrería, lapidaria y otras técnicas de joyería y metal.
Creativamente, mis joyas están inspiradas en el elemento de piedra en sí. Me siento impulsado a encontrar formas creativas de elevar los objetos naturales al arte portátil, lo que permite al usuario disfrutar de la pieza y, al mismo tiempo, expresar su propio estilo personal singular. ¡El usuario se convierte en el marco para la joyería y la joyería también enmarca al usuario!
Estoy infinitamente intrigado y distraído por los "objetos brillantes": una concha intrincada en la playa o el misterio de un fósil formado en pirita por millones de años en la tierra. Me he convertido en un coleccionista de materiales inusuales y tengo un estudio lleno de roca áspera de todo el mundo (semipreciosas, gemas preciosas, fósiles) que me inspiran disponibles para cortar y pulir en cabujones terminados para joyas. Muchos de mis días los paso peinando Rehoboth Beach, DE en busca de tesoros oceánicos que aspiran a convertirse en joyas.
Mi visión es trabajar con materiales naturales poco comunes para hacer joyas que despierten la curiosidad en los tesoros exóticos de la tierra y al mismo tiempo también estén de moda. Me emociona mucho compartir las maravillas de las piedras preciosas con otras personas.
Notarás temas y materiales recurrentes en mi trabajo: formas de estrellas, piedras en capas, amonites, conchas, coral, pirita, cuarzo incluido, geodas, piedras metálicas y los colores del océano, especialmente en turquesa, ¡estoy obsesionado con todas estas cosas!
Crecí en WV, asistí a la Universidad Marshall estudiando Marketing y pasé más de 25 años en la industria hotelera de hospitalidad y reuniones, viajando por el mundo y viviendo en Baltimore y Filadelfia. Home ahora está dividido entre McLean, VA y Rehoboth Beach, DE.

A day when I don’t create something with stone and metal seems incomplete. Collecting rocks and shells as a child has turned into a fascination with transforming those objects into jewelry. I learned jewelry basics from local artists while living in Greece & Turkey in my 20’s. I’m mostly self-taught but over the years, I've studied with several talented jewelry instructors* to expand my knowledge and elevate my work in metalsmithing, lapidary & other jewelry and metal techniques.
Creatively, my jewelry is inspired by the stone element itself. I am driven to find creative ways of elevating natural objects into wearable art - enabling the wearer to enjoy the piece and at the same time, express their own singular personal style. The wearer becomes the frame for the jewelry and the jewelry also frames the wearer!
I am endlessly intrigued and distracted by “shiny objects” - an intricate shell on the beach or the mystery of a fossil formed into pyrite by millions of years in the earth. I have become a collector of unusual materials and have a studio full of rough rock from all over the world (semi-precious, precious gems, fossils) that inspire me available to cut and polish into finished cabochons for jewelry. Many of my days are spent combing Rehoboth Beach, DE for ocean treasures that aspire to be made into jewelry.
My vision is to work with uncommon natural materials to make jewelry that sparks curiosity in the earth’s exotic treasures and is at the same time also fashionable. I get very excited about sharing the wonders of gemstones with other people.
You will notice recurring themes and materials in my work - star shapes, layered stones, ammonites, shells, coral, pyrite, included quartz, geodes, metallic stones and the colors of the ocean, especially in turquoise - I am obsessed with all of these things!
I grew up in WV, attended Marshall University studying Marketing and spent over 25 years in the hotel hospitality and meetings industry, traveling the world and living in Baltimore & Philadelphia. Home is now split between McLean, VA and Rehoboth Beach, DE.
