The clock looks amazing! I love it. Cynthia was wonderful to work with. She answered all of my questions & worked with me to get the clock to look exactly how I wanted. Thanks so much!

The Kraken clock arrived this morning and I love it. Can't wait to give it to a friend for her birthday. The detail and quality is lovely and my request for the colour of the record was heard, so thank you!
Technology meets quirky energy!
We loved a lot of the digitally manufactured-hand assembled products out there but it all started to look a bit similar to us so we started making our own products that were unique and fun.
We are a small team of two, Adam & Cynthia, but we are a force to be reckoned with. Both of us complain about how busy we are but hate quiet moments at the same time – we wouldn’t have our busy lifestyle any other way.
We are located in Western Australia and work out of our own workshop using digital technologies (laser cutter, CNC router etc) and hands on assembly and finishing. Our workspace is crazy! There’s a lot of chaos but we are firm believers that the creativity is messy – we don’t like to get distracted with cleaning when we are creating. That’s our excuse anyway!
Our choice of materials follow the same ethos as our object design does. We like unique materials because we think what you make something out of says a lot about the object itself. We see materials sometimes and get so excited by them that we can’t NOT make something.
We like to go above and beyond for our customers. It’s kind of an addiction to that happy response we get when we do something a little extra for our customers. We seriously love that reaction! Smiling is good! We like to see smiles happen because we made something that scratches an itch or we fixed your dropped clock for free.
Our designs often give a nod to popular culture but always insist on being just a little bit quirky. We are inspired by our memories but in a fun nostalgic way. Think about those conversations you have over dinner with friends when you all take turns in saying “Hey, remember when they used to....” We like to help you re-live the moment!

Cynthia & Adam
Owner, Maker, Designer
With one foot in mainstream and one foot in subculture lifestyle we can often be seen running three legged design races. We are techno-philes who also love good old fashioned craftspersonship. We also adore Sunday day trips as local tourist nerds.
Shiny Rabbit, a team of two - Cynthia & Adam, makes and sells local Western Australian handmade & laser and router aided wearable jewellery and home wares for both men and women - with a difference.
Combining subculture themes with urban appeal - 'Sub+urban', Shiny Rabbit brings something new to the tech cut local market through unique construction, unique application and detail, a unique range of materials, and fantastic subject matter.
All our objects are designed and then made right here by us in our own studio in Perth. We even use our own machines combined with hand construction which gives us the ultimate 'from concept' to actual object control and allows for a personal touch to every object made.

He has been flown to various locations including NZ to consult and instruct on projects in the boat building industry because of of his extensive and expansive technical and creative knowledge. His ability to understand and operate in many industries from CAD & 3D creation to the physical construction of objects is well recognised nationally and overseas.
Cynthia is an acknowledged and experienced artist of over 20 years specialising in the field of technology and creativity and currently is employed as a Sessional Academic at Curtin University in Fine Art. THE METHODS & MATERIALS:
Our products are made using a variety of materials and methods like composites, enamelled metals, cast resin, textiles (chiefly hand printed), laser cut acrylic and wood, router cut materials and sometimes can include vintage objects as materials.
All our items are made locally in our workshop which allows us the highest of quality control and also allows a large range of bespoke options for you. All of our laser products are cut on site on our very own laser cutter (we call him Crazy Ivan) and are always lovingly, painstakingly and carefully assembled by hand.
Machine cut doesn't have to mean machine made. We always hand assemble all our products with love and care and in house design with our desire and passion for art and fun in mind. While we aim to buy in unique elements for some of our products, nothing we sell is pre assembled elsewhere; its all local and each final product is designed and put together by us right here in Western Australia! Many of our products like some of our enamel and fabric lines are also handmade from scratch too. We also use every bit of scrap we have that we find that is of suitable quality, and source eco & low impact manufacturing where we can, making many of our products eco conscious. We research extensively all of our materials before choosing a technique to ensure the safest possible methods.

Shiny Rabbit can be described as an edgy contemporary fantasy sub culture meets urban appeal brand encompassing subject matter such as the mysterious jackalope (part jack rabbit part antelope), wild animals, dark and romantic musings, cultural objects, tattoo culture and symbols allowing each owner to map their own story onto their newly purchased object.
Everything we make, and how we package our product is done with care and love as we adore creating and making quality objects that give joy to those who invest in them.
*******We believe in good customer experiences and seller and buyer honesty so we will always be honest with you and do our very best to ensure your item is packed nicely, shipped as soon as possible and that you are cared for every step of the way. Should your items or your experience not be to your liking, please contact us - we can always work something out whether its a return and refund or such :)*******
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
Cancelled orders must be requested directly via convo as soon as possible. If you change your mind, that's fine, we don't hold grudges :) But you will need to contact us first and as soon as possible to avoid the item being shipped. If an item has been shipped, we can not cancel the order. If the item has not been shipped, you will receive a full refund and the item will go back into the shop. We ship as soon as we can so this is subject to your contacting me (Cynthia) and to me receiving your mail in time please be aware I am not at the computer all the time so I may not get your email. If there is an issue and the item has been sent, we can work something out (a return at your expense and a refund of the paypal paid amount or similar).
If you need insurance, special or fast shipping, please convo us and we can chat about the options. It is the buyers responsibility to request insurance.
We cannot take responsibility for loss or damage for purchases where insurance has not been requested. We don't automatically apply insurance, and it is not included in any of our shipping lists so please request it if you want it. Insurance through Australia Post only covers the items while they are in Australia Posts service.
Customs fees are the buyers responsibility. All our items should not be customs issues at all, but we do not have any say over customs spot checks or policies so we do not cover these. Please be aware that some of our wooden products may be stopped at customs (though it hasn't happened yet) as some countries may have restrictions on wood products entering the country. If there is an issue with our items, and it appears to be our fault, and the item is destroyed please forward the customs outcome letter/statement and we will make sure you are looked after properly but there should be no reason for this to happen :)
Refunds and Exchanges
We do not cover items lost in transit without insurance.
We do have a 12 month repair warranty which is informal but our promise to you - send the item back to us (convo me first - we may be able to assist remotely) and we will send it back repaired. We cover the return post but not the senders post fees. We will do our best to minimise any issues with this.
If an item is clearly faulty and falling apart with no adverse treatment, (that is if its a clear fault of ours) we will replace or repair at NO cost to you. You do need to send back the old object and this is subject to availability of items if no longer in stock - some of our items are unique and can not be replaced but we can discuss this if it is the case.
Additional policies and FAQs
Consignment is not available for postal orders - local shops which we can physically visit may be able to have consigned products. Please convo me with your situation. We would be honoured to assist however I can.
