The weather finally got cold enough for me to wear my Afton Fingerless Mittens!

About

Natural Fiber Goods

I learned how to knit when I was a kid, but it was being a broke college student that made me pick up my needles in earnest. Why spend money on expensive gifts, when you can just knit a sweater?

For everyone. In your whole family.

Sophomore year was the Year of the Sweaters, and, tragically, everyone in my family received ugly misshapen garments made from cheap acrylic yarn.

Frustrated with both the materials and patterns I had at hand, I began designing my own patterns and experimenting with different fiber types. I discovered a love of wool and designing that ran deep. In 2009, after several years of knitting mostly for friends and family, I began offering my knits online and transitioned to knitting exclusively with natural fibers.

Everything I create is knitted or crocheted by hand with an emphasis on function, color, and materials I enjoy experimenting with the different textures and design possibilities of combining fiber-working techniques. I’ve been known to embroider, sew, and felt when I can! Over the years, my technique has changed and grown, but I continue to be inspired by the outdoors and the colors of fall to make Natural Fiber Goods.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I love doing custom orders. Just send me a message and we will work something out!

Care instructions

Hand wash your knits with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use hot water as it can cause your wool to felt and shrink. Lay your garment flat on a towel to dry, reshaping it as you do. Avoid hanging or twisting your knit.

Wholesale availability

Most of the items are available for wholesale and are completed on a made-to-order basis. Send me a message and I'll be in touch, or, find me on Etsy Wholesale!

Sizing details

Most of the knits I offer are one size fits most, and measurements can be found in an item's listing details. If you need a particularly large or small size, though, I'm happy to customize something for you!
