231 Designs was born when I made the decision to leave work to stay home with my infant son. An avid crafter and graphic designer with a background in print, I've always loved to make things both with my hands, and in Illustrator and Photoshop. My love for pretty paper and books goes back as long as I remember, and in recent years my husband and I have done some experimenting with wood working as well.
I was looking for a way to combine all these loves in to something that I could do to satisfy my need to be creative, and hopefully make a little money in the process when I saw the crowd funding campaign for the GlowForge 3D Laser Printer, and my imagination went wild with the things I could use it for. We preordered one, but sadly it wont be arriving until spring/summer of 2016, so in order to get my shop up and running I ordered the cheapest Chinese CO2 laser engraver I could find on eBay. There is a learning curve to say the least, but I'm getting better everyday and launched my shop November 11th with a number of personalized Christmas ornaments.
I'm hoping to add new products weekly and expand in to gift items such as coasters, wall art and signs, and hopefully even wedding items! The opportunities are endless!
