SPILTMILK was started in the Spring of 2020, but the designs began many years prior. Waiting on a miracle baby, our founder began creating her watercolor paintings to provide a little speck of color and brightness during a long and difficult infertility journey.

They began as simply doodles, but she continued practicing and honing her craft until she had a few paintings she was really proud of. When she got word they would finally be expecting a little one in October of 2019, the wheels in her head began to turn. This was a one-in-a-million baby, and she would need something special to celebrate her arrival in style. Not just any baby items would do!

All of our SPILTMILK products began as one-of-a-kind products that weren't for sale. They were just one mom's self-trained watercolor patterns printed on to single items for her daughter.

But, after a few months of being home with a newborn she realized that everyone, every mom, and every dad, could use a bright spot in their day too. Newborns are tough! Sleepless nights, seemingly never-ending feeds, spit-up and dirty diapers galore - it was then we knew SPILTMILK could produce reasonably priced items that provide a glimmer of brightness to those moms and dads in the middle of the 'fourth trimester'. It became our mission to go above and beyond the expectations of tired parents by offering practical products that inspire happiness by creating unique and bright patterns, at prices that still leave room in the budget for diapers.
