Hey, howdy! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Brooke, the One Woman behind this one-woman show. My business journey began in 2013 when I started selling my flower crowns and macrame bracelets in the parking lots at Phish shows--I just wanted enough money to get to the next show. Everyone loved the Fishman bracelets, so I started an Etsy shop so that I could sell them even when Phish wasn't touring. I had a pretty solid side hustle going!

It wasn't until 2015 that I would start making the sunglasses and name my business Baba Cool. I was loving the embellished sunglasses trend and wanted a way to bring it to the Phish and jam band scene. So I embellished a couple pairs of sunglasses, and I added Phish lyrics. Duh!! No one else was doing it at the time. Turns out it was a damn good idea and people really loved them. I had created something special.

I didn't set out to become a sunglasses brand, but it's been such a fun and unexpected journey. Listening to music and song lyrics has always been an extremely cathartic and therapeutic experience for me, and the sunglasses are a way for me to take that passive experience (listening) and transform it into a more active one (interpreting, creating, & sharing). I love to create designs that can resonate with anyone, regardless of their taste in music.
