When I'm on tour with Humming House, the majority of my days look like this: roll out of bed in one city, sit in a van for several hours, arrive at a venue, sit around for a long time waiting on the stage setup, soundcheck, wait around some more for the show to start. I get to spend roughly 75-90 minutes actually doing what I love (playing music) - and then the whole routine starts up again. Touring can be a bear and a bore in between gigs, so I picked up my knitting needles that had been abandoned since college and started knitting hats and animals on the road and in greenrooms around the country. I started this little shop to sell the items I was making in my hurry-up-and-wait time, and as the orders slowly came in I realized something new about myself: I *really* like selling things. So much so, in fact, that as the summer rolled in and fewer people were ordering knit hats I decided to expand the scope of this shop to include vintage items that I find in goodwills, thrift stores, yard sales, and consignment shops around the country. Sometimes, when I have enough free time and mobility, I get the chance to find the good thrift and consignment stores in the various cities we visit.
