bumble + bird // giving fiber arts a modern twist

As a child, I was incredibly lucky to have a creative mom and grandmother. As I sit here typing this, I can look up at the gorgeous needlepoint made by my mom before I was born. She is also a gifted illustrator!

My grandmother was always teaching me some new craft - marble dying silk, sewing, weaving. She had an enormous loom in her living room that I can still remember sitting at while we created some new textile together.

They taught me cross-stitch as a child and after I had my first child, it was only natural to pick up the needle and thread again. What started as a hobby quickly became a reborn passion as I created more and more designs.

I realized that I wanted to share my love of hand embroidery with others and so Bumble + Bird began.

Mixing colorful florals with humor and sass is my favorite, and seeing the joy it brings people is truly the best. I hope you love what you see in my shop!
