Some of the prettiest thank you notes I've seen, and made with sustainable materials and ink! Wonderful seller to work with and shipped quickly. Highly recommend.

Small Beginnings Have Big Heart

Happy Penguin Press began years ago—long before it actually opened. Like many dreams, it started off with a deep love of something. In this case, paper. Its co-founder, Ashley Leath, spent much of her spare time collecting stationery and Japanese paper, scouring paper blogs, and perusing store shelves for simple, thoughtfully designed cards.

As a child, Ashley spent much of her time either in the dance studio or outside in the branches of trees with a notepad in hand, practicing her drawing. Drawing led to website design and digital painting in high school. Then one day, years later while she and her husband, Bryan, took an evening walk in an attempt to enjoy a rare cool night in summertime Alabama, an idea was born. Why not take Ashley's love for design and creative energy and put it—literally—on paper?

That idea took its time growing into something real and concrete. Their motto was that they didn't want to do something if they weren't going to do it right. So they sought out the prettiest environmentally friendly paper they could find, did lots and lots (and lots) of research, and eventually, Happy Penguin found its way into the world. They now produce each piece by hand on their beloved 1884 printing press named Ceci.

We pride ourselves on our environmental focus. Everything from our inks to our papers to our packaging is Mother Nature friendly, as we say. Our designs are simple and light, putting the focus where it should be: on the words you write to your friends and family. Our stationery is the messenger, but you're the author.

I grew up traveling the Southern California coast with my parents as they sold their paintings at outdoor art shows. All this traveling and painting and drawing must have rubbed off! I spend all my time now dreaming of beautiful paper and yummy food.
