Amy- you are amazing! You went above and beyond and made my dream of a delft zipper pouch that says "All The Things" for my bridesmaids come true. I use that saying all the time so, it will be hilarious when all my girls see this on their pouches. Thank you for being patient with me as I kept ordering and ordering. Thank you for sourcing the fabric-- it is perfect!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love them!!

About

I owe it all to my mom... and Fraulein Maria.

My Eco-conscious fashion line Honey Darlin is a concept that's been floating around in my head for several years now. But to really explain my vision and why I'm so passionate about it I have to go way back ...

It all started with my mother. And no, I don't just mean that she gave birth to me – though that of course had a big part in it. My mom was recycling before recycling was cool. I think it had something to do with the fact that she came from a family of seven kids. When you have that many kids you just don't tend to be wasteful. You use what you got to make what you need. If something is broke, someone in the house will figure out how to fix it. Nothing gets thrown out unless it's covered with mold, or in the instance of clothing, tattered to the point of being un-mendable. Hence, a whole family of recyclers... so you could say I've been recycling since birth.

Second I blame Fraulein Maria. For those that did not grow up in a home graced with movie musicals, I am speaking of Julie Andrews character in The Sound of Music. Ever since I saw that frisky little singing nun turn a room of curtains into a smattering of kids clothes, the concept of recycling expanded itself to mean so much more than separating your plastics and aluminums. It was only natural that the first thing I did when I learned how to sew was make a purse out of an old skirt, followed by - you guessed it - a dress made out of an old curtain.

Fast forward many years later and I'm a graduate of Fashion Design from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology living in Central Texas running a BBQ restaurant with my husband. With my robust collection of vintage fabric, my love for making new from old ever present, and a growing interest in the handmade movement, I had to make these passions into something tangible. Thus, Honey Darlin was born.

Thank you for being a part of my creative journey and letting me share my story with you. Thank you for supporting slow fashion, ethical manufacturing, locally made products, and Eco-conscious garments.

Honey Darlin gets its name from my deceased grandfather "Papa J" who often called his granddaughters honey darlin'. (No "g" - in true Texas fashion)

Frequently asked questions

Care instructions

All Honey Darlin pieces can be machine washed on a gentle cycle in cold or tap temp water & tumble dried on low. Because hand washing is a pain and dry cleaning sucks for the environment :)
Some pieces may need a light press afterward on medium heat.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All Honey Darlin orders are wrapped neatly using recycled & recyclable materials. I have full faith that when you get your goodies the packaging makes it into the right bin :)

I can do gift wrapping upon request, just send me a message when you purchase.

Do you have a sentimental old piece of clothing or family heirloom? Fathers old shirt? Mom's wedding dress? Husbands underwear? (Okay maybe not that last one) I'd be happy to work with you to make your cherished garment or fabric into something that you can wear on a daily basis. Please contact me regarding your special custom order.
