the story of Shoplissy...
I have always loved fabric & ribbon and creating new things. Put me in a fabric store and I'm a happy girl:) Growing up I sewed nonstop... I made quilts, pillows, and doll clothes. When I was 13, I started making dresses for all the girls I babysat... which turned into a little business. I later sold flower girl dresses, ring bearer pillows, and flower girl baskets. After majoring in apparel design and fashion merchandising in college, I worked in the clothing design business in the Seattle area for a few years before I decided to stay home with my kids and set up shop!
I opened my Etsy shop in 2008 selling purses, aprons, and baby gifts. A year later my baby girl turned one and I made her a party hat, and I decided to add a couple hats to my shop just for fun... 11 years and 9,000 hats later, I think it's safe to say I'm in the birthday party business! I could not be happier that I've been able to create fun things my customers are excited to buy for their little ones!
