ShopTheBackLot is taking a short break
Hello, I'm Emma.
I have always had a passion for starting my own company. I have dabbled in a few areas, but really found my niche after the birth of my son. For years I had the desire to create clothing for myself, which spilled over in the desire for my little one to have unique and comfy clothes that fit him perfectly. I love neutral and earth colors, and good quality, soft fabrics. When I find something I love that fits well, I must buy it in every color! I wanted to create a line of staple items that can go with a number of outfits. My desire is that my clothing is affordable, comfortable, stylish, and of course, ADORABLE. I only make items that I would put my children in, and that reflects my style!
ALL ITEMS IN THIS SHOP ARE CPSC COMPLIANT.
What does this mean? It means your child's safety is the #1 most important thing to us. All components used meet the safety regulations set in place by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. All items are individually tracked so that in the event of a safety concern, you will be notified immediately. It takes a lot of time and effort to remain CPSC compliant. Thank you for supporting small businesses that work hard to stay up to date on the newest safety regulations!
Please read the following for full information:
Under the regulations of the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) & CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), nearly all children's products must be tested for various elements to ensure the safety of our children. The elements of importance include: lead, flammability, and phthalates (including BPA).
The most important of these for children's apparel (including cloth diapers) is lead and flammability. Most textiles (fabrics) in the USA are already tested for lead. Textiles are generally not tested for flammability as the requirements are not based on the textile, but the finished product. Each piece of fabric, depending on its final use, is required to have these certifications.
So what does this mean for purchasing clothing and diapers for children?
Small business artisans are taking care to respect your family and keep each member as safe as they possibly can. This includes registering their businesses in the federal databases and purchasing materials that are compliant under the CPSC/CPSIA regulations.
How do I know who is compliant and who is not?
Just ask! The small business artisans are banding together to show you that they truly care. As such, you should be able to locate a statement on their web-stores. Such statements as "Meets CPSC Safety Requirements" will let you know that their products have been tested by themselves, or they are registered as a small batch manufacturer and have received a statement from their suppliers that the components have been tested and are safe for use in their products.
As well, you can easily spot an artisan that is likely to be compliant by their use of labeling. Under the CPSC and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), various products are required to have certain information permanently attached to the finished product before it is sent out to you, the consumer.

Frequently asked questions
Items run on the larger end of True to Size. Meaning you can expect a 12-18 months to fit closer to an 18 months, or a 3/4T to fit closer to a 4T. This of course depends on your individual child's build. When in doubt, contact me with any questions and I will do my best to help you decide which size is best!
Do you accept custom orders?
No. Due to the inability to fulfill everybody's request, custom orders are not accepted.
All fabric has been washed and dried to remove any factory chemicals or residue, and to help in reducing shrinking. HOWEVER it is still recommended to hang dry most of the items. Especially the thermal and French Terry. If not cared for properly, the French Terry can pill and thermal may shrink still. PLEASE READ ALL CARE INSTRUCTIONS.
Do you offer Local pick up or delivery for Reno and Sparks residence?
Yes, please contact me prior to ordering for a code and arrange getting your order to you.
