Inspiring a Handmade Lifestyle

Welcome to Shrimp Salad Circus, my little shop of handmade goodness.

I (Lindsay, by the way) am a creative spirit with a penchant for cats, travel, and making something from nothing. I have a short attention span and the blog to prove it:

When I’m not elbow-deep in acrylic paint, cement, scraps of every craft supply imaginable, and a sad little pile of my own singed eyelashes, my very most favorite things in the world are travel, languages, animals, and photography.

Want to know more about me?

Want to make something with your own two hands?

Shop members

  • Lindsay

    Owner, Maker, Designer

Lindsay is the designer behind Shrimp Salad Circus. She loves calligraphy, lettering, painting, and making messes. A digital media specialist by day, she spends lots and lots of evening and weekend hours bringing Shrimp Salad Circus to life.

  • Mish

    Director Of Customer Service

Mish is the Chief Customer Service Officer. He may or may not answer your emails, but he probably will judge you if you're "not a cat person." Also, he yells, but mostly he's just snuggly and sends a little bit of love with every order.

  • Rosco

    Chief Photo-bomber

Rosco likes to think he has a bigger role in the business, but mostly he's asleep, tucked into his favorite quilt. When he's awake, he's usually just dragging his tail through wet paint or sneaking into the edges of product photos.

Buyers with a Maryland address will be charged 6% sales tax on purchases and shipping costs.
All orders (except are and prints) are carefully packaged in the signature Shrimp Salad Circus style with kraft elements, white tissue, and hand-stamped accents.

If your order is a gift that will be sent directly to the recipient, please let me know in the "Message to Seller" box at checkout so that I can enclose a sweet gift tag letting them know it's from you!

All items - including prints - are made to order, so please allow 1-2 weeks for production. Whenever possible, orders will be produced more quickly. Holiday order deadlines will be clearly stated in my shop announcement.

All domestic shipments are sent via First Class or Priority Mail, depending on the item's size and shape. This typically takes 3-5 days to arrive. Please note that shipping time is in addition to production time. You will be notified when your order has shipped.

We ship via Priority Mail or First Class Mail. Shipping time is about 3-5 days, once your piece is ready to leave the studio. Add this shipping time to the in-house processing time for your piece, and you will have an estimate of when you will receive your order.

All international shipments are sent via First Class Mail through the United States Postal Service. Depending on your country, you can expect an average shipping time of 3-4 weeks, though that range can vary around holidays and for different countries. With customs delays in certain countries, shipments can sometimes take 6-8 weeks to arrive. Therefore, I am unable to guarantee a specific arrival date or track your package. Please contact me at shop [!at] if you'd like to arrange an expedited shipment through another carrier, such as FedEx. I am unable to refund shipments that do not arrive by a certain date or which are lost in transit overseas.

If you think your package should have arrived but haven't yet received it, try checking with your local post office. They may be holding it for pickup instead of delivering it directly to your home. Any customs charges that your country adds are your responsibility and are not included in the shipping fee. Customs forms will be completed wholly and accurately, and I am unable to mark any purchase as a gift to avoid a customs charge.
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to love your new handmade goods, so I think that customer service is the most important part of this process!

All items are clearly described in their respective listing, so no refunds or exchanges will be accepted because something is larger/smaller than you expected. Because each item is made-to-order, refunds or exchanges will not be accepted for minor variations in design. You are getting a one-of-a-kind handmade object; those little variations are half the fun!

All orders are packaged with great care to avoid any damage during transit. Anything damaged during shipping can be handled through the United States Postal Service.

Due to the nature of artwork, no refunds or exchanges will be accepted for original paintings, calligraphy, or prints of either.

If you have an issue with a non-fine-art item, you must contact me at: shop [!at] within two business days to let me know of the problem. Exchange requests will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. In the event of an exchange, shipping costs will not be refunded, and you are responsible for return shipping. No refunds will be given.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love making custom designs, so don't hesitate to contact me about any item -- or a new idea you want to discuss! You can email me at: shop [!at]

Any custom design may become part of long-term shop inventory. Custom designs may be photographed and used in shop materials as well.

Prices are subject to change based on my materials costs, labor time, etc., but such changes would not affect any previous orders, reservations, or custom orders booked before those changes were implemented.
