We are delighted! Gabi and Einav made us a pair of Keum boo wedding bands 8mm and 10mm wide, with a deep, hollow dome profile lined with silver. The patina is dark gray, not high contrast black like some pieces. They are unique and beautiful; the look of random, warm gold filaments in a smoky silver field is attractive but subtle. I described the look as an exceptional combination of classy and primitive; "just like us!", said my wife. They are comfortable to wear and look bold and distinctive. We're both very satisfied with the diameter size, weight, smoothness, and build quality. Gabi was helpful answering my questions and patient as I considered the choices and took weeks to decide. We are in every way happy with Shtaim.

About

One shop. Two designers. Endless ideas (and usually not enough time)....

Once upon a time...
Don't all stories begin like this?
Ours begins 12 years ego. Einav and I met while we were in the words of the unforgettable Wizzini from The Princess Bride: "unemployed in Greenland" - well, not quite in Greenland, but in the northern parts of Israel, in a period of a severe recess in the economy .

At the time being young and inexperienced designers was not helping us find a job, so we both took a course in metalsmithing trying to add something more practical to our resume...
We both had designing background: Einav in graphic design and me in architecture. We enjoyed exchanging ideas, developing designs and comparing learning experiences. We became good friends.

Life has it's course and we both ended taking the sure path working in our original fields . Einav started teaching art and creating beautiful illustrations and graphic designs. I specialized in sustainable design and eventually opened my own architecture firm. We both continued designing jewelry in our spare time.

And then we discovered Etsy. We began turning our old dreams into reality....

Since we both practice other design fields, our work is frequently a mirror of our interest in shapes and colors as a means of telling a story. Our pieces often have a strong geometric feel , sometimes accurate and in other occasions abstract and organic.
We both live in one of Israel's prettier parts, enjoying a beautiful rural environment that echoes in our work.

We constantly try to explore new techniques, often challenging and demanding, but real rewording. Centuries old Etruscan Granulation techniques along side the latest developments in CAD 3D jewelry design are mixed side by side.
We love creating new designs in silver and high Karat gold as well as working with precious and semi precious gemstones.
Every piece we make is completely handmade, and often our designs are OOAK.

Thanks for stopping by in our shop - we really hope you'll enjoy our jewelry!
Feel free to contact us with questions, custom requests or any other feedback :-)

Additional policies and FAQs
All metals scratch and dent. Any design or finish on the exterior of any ring is vulnerable to scratching and wear over any period of time, especially sterling silver. We cannot replace a ring because it has shown wear.

All rings over size 12 U.S will be charged an extra 10% fee. Wonder why? our metal sheets are precut to a certain size. For rings 12 and up we need to order specially cut sheets.

Chlorine and Sulfur do not get well together with silver: silver will turn dark in contact with these substances. While it is relatively easy to get the luster back we suggest taking off jewelry before going to pools or hut tabs.
Salt water will not damage your rings, but getting in cold water will often cause your fingers to shrink and your ring may fall and get lost - remember that when you go to the beach or pool.

All items that have an oxidized finish are bound to change their color over time. It is relatively easy to restore the dark hue to silver items, we will gladly guide you through the process (it can be done with natural materials found in any household). A thin protective coating can be applied on oxidized rings, but from our experience all lacquers will eventually peal off.
