Announcement   Welcome! We specialize in hand-crafted, high quality wooden frames and home goods! We can customize our items, just ask - we are super friendly.
**IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ! : Each of our picture frames is hand-crafted to order, starting with raw wood. This is a painstaking, multi-step process that we feel is well worth the wait. Typically our frames take 7 - 10 business days (MON - FRI) to complete from start to finish - occasionally we may need an extra day or two depending on how many orders we've received the same day -- they're each handmade with love! We try our best to get them out as soon as possible, but strive for quality over speed.

if you need something more quickly, please check our SHIPS TODAY section for items that are already built and are able to ship out immediately. If you are planning to order frames for an event on specific date, please contact us so we can be sure to have the frames shipped with plenty of lead time.

We are happy to adapt our items or even create custom items for you - wedding and party favors/decor, school photo frames, benches, shelves, letters, etc. Convo us!

Thanks so much and have an awesome day,

Phil and Leia

~~We are proud to be a BLUE SKY Business Partner. Our shop is now 100% Wind Powered.~~

About

Handmade Wooden Frames and Home Decor

We are a full-service custom frame and wood design shop based in Salt Lake City. We specialize in hand-crafted, environmentally-friendly wooden frames of our own design which feature "finished corners". This means that the frame seams are puttied and sanded before painting for an extra polished, complete look. We used reclaimed woods whenever possible. Our painted finishes are created in a labor-intensive, 6 - 7 step process, and the end result is a rich, glass-smooth surface.
We are proud of being a 100% wind-powered business.

OUR STORY
In the mid-'90s Phil started his very first wood shop in the garage of his house. He plugged away building hundreds of amazing custom furniture pieces, and in 1998 he expanded to a larger space down a little alleyway in Salt Lake City. At the same time a local club had just been shut down, and the kids were in need of a place to move the rock shows they had booked. Phil offered part of his space for the bands to play, and it soon snowballed into becoming his full-time job. He ran the venue (called Kilby Court), booking bands such as The Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, Rilo Kiley, and thousands of others, all the while still building furniture on the side. In 2000, Leia joined Team Kilby, screenprinting posters for many of the shows that came through the venue. Phil built her a studio next to his wood shop, and they lived together in a house next door, taking care of their two dogs and ever-growing family. In 2007, after the birth of their third son, Phil and Leia decided to sell the music venue to focus on other artistic endeavors (that were during daytime hours). A few months later they opened the first incarnation of Signed & Numbered, a poster shop and gallery in the downstairs of a downtown record store. The shop was going well, but people were asking for frames for their poster purchases, and not loving the choices out there for framing, Phil and Leia decided to build their own. Framing soon became the focus of the business, so they needed a bigger space. They finally settled on a warehouse space in South Salt Lake, and remodeled it to include a storefront with the full wood shop in back. Now in its 8th year, Signed & Numbered is thriving, and Phil has gone back to his first love of woodworking.

We will start building your order once we receive payment. This goes for echecks through PayPal as well-- we will start building once the payment clears. Please send check or money order ASAP so we can get your order underway! :)
Shipping
Each of our frames are built to order from raw wood, and each frame gets a six and sometimes seven step finish. As you can imagine, this takes some time so please allow 7-10 business days for your frame order to be built, finished, assembled, packaged and shipped. Occasionally we need a day or two extra depending on our current volume of orders. Keep in mind it may take up to 20 full days to receive your frames when weekends and shipping time are considered. They are handmade with love and we strive for quality over speed.

If you need your frames by a certain date, please let us know as soon as possible. We can almost always accommodate your schedule as long as we know the date you need your order to arrive. If you need to put a RUSH on your order, we are happy to do this but we charge an additional $10 per frame for rushes.

We ship to the address you give us on Etsy, so please make sure this address is up to date!

DOMESTIC SHIPPING:
We ship most small packages via USPS Priority Mail. Larger packages are shipped via UPS Ground. Once your order ships, you will receive an email with your package tracking number. USPS Priority Mail takes 2-3 days in transit, UPS Ground takes 3-10 days in transit.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
International orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail if the weight is over 4 pounds, and smaller items are shipped via First Class International.

We cannot mark international orders as "Gift" on the customs form or otherwise falsify customs information.
We have no responsibility or information regarding import duties, taxes, customs, etc. that might be charged by the home country of our international customers.
Customs are the responsibility of the purchaser, and are, unfortunately, very often a part of purchasing internationally.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please contact us if you are unhappy with your frame order in any way, and we will do whatever we can to make it right for you. We know who keeps us in business, and we truly appreciate our customers!

We use real glass in our smaller frames. On frames over 16x20 inches we recommend plexiglass for safety and stability in shipping. Though glass breakage is rare, postal folks do tend to throw boxes around, so on occasion we will encounter a broken pane of glass. If your glass has broken during shipment, please contact us and we will send you a new pane of glass ASAP.
If you hear broken glass rattling around in your box, DO NOT OPEN the package. Simply write "DAMAGED - RETURN TO SENDER" on the box and give it back to your carrier. They will send the box back to us and we will replace whatever needs to be replaced and ship it back to you ASAP.

If you would like to make an exchange, we are happy to do this as well. Please keep your original packaging for returning your item(s), and write REFUSED and/or RETURN TO SENDER on the box so you are not charged for return shipping. If you have opened the packaging, you may be charged to ship the package back to us. If you are willing to cover the shipping back to us, we will reship the exchange item at our cost.
Make sure you contact us to make arrangements for your exchange so we can be on the lookout for your package.
Additional policies and FAQs
We welcome custom orders and sizes and offer mats in a wide variety of colors. Please feel free to convo us for more information. Thanks a bunch!
