...and flowers in her hair...

We here at Silkworm can most often be found scouring the little gold dust towns of California for precious beauties, long forgotten, and frolicking on the hillside adorned in our newest favorite frock.

Returns and exchange details
Please know your measurements and compare them to the measurements given to ensure the right fit.

Please remember that vintage has been previously adored. I strive to offer pieces that are in exceptional condition. Some pieces have been loved more than others and I do my best to state any imperfections in the listing.

If any issues come up I will work with you to find a solution and most importantly I want happy customers.
I accept credit card payments through Direct Checkout via Etsy, as well as credit card and bank payments through PayPal.

Layaway arrangements can be made for purchases over $200; please contact me for additional details.
I ship within 3 business day of purchase. Items are delicately wrapped in brown paper tied with a bow and packed in a poly mailer. If any other packaging is required please contact me as I am always happy to arrange other shipping and packing methods if necessary.

IMPORTANT! USPS First class international provides a confirmation number, but not tracking. It will confirm that your package has left the US, but no further than that. I can not be held responsible for any lost or stolen orders that where mailed without tracking. USPS priority shipping it will provide tracking and insurance.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items are vintage and have been previously owned/worn, and are sold 'as is.' Every effort is made to fully describe each item, however some wear or fading is to be expected. We try to photograph and note all imperfections. Please keep in mind that some colors and flaws are hard to capture due to variances in lighting.

Please do not message us with "offers". We take great care and time selecting our collection and run a full time retail shop. There is a lot of overhead and fees associated in selling items online, and most people would be surprised to know that our profit margin is around 10%. It's the equivalent of someone asking you to do your job "for less". We are happy to engage with customers that see the value in running a small business, ie. what Etsy used to be, something different from big box stores that can offer regular "discounts". 1-2 times a season we do FLASH sales, generally when we go on holiday or buying trips. Please add us on Instagram @silkwormvintage to find out when. Check out our heavily discounted 25 - 70% off SALE section for older stock.

We do our best to professionally sew/mend any flaws and a mild cleaning treatment is given to items with stains, smellier items, and all leather goods. The majority of our clothing has been steam cleaned with a standard garment steamer. Please note that in the interest of not compromising the condition of our garments we do not launder them, therefore it is up to the customer if they choose to for hygienic reasons.

This is vintage, therefore we only have one of each item to sell. Most vintage pieces are rare finds that you won't come across again and once something is sold, chances are it’s gone for good. Simply put: If you love it, buy it. Generally we don't have more than one unless in the rare instance it's deadstock (new vintage, found with tags, sometimes found in batches).

We invest a lot of time in organizing photo shoots and having items shot on a professional model. Unfortunately we only take extra pics on items over $100 unless it's a detail shot of the label or flaws.

When shopping for vintage clothing online it's best to follow the actual garment measurements listed rather than rely on a size tag as clothing has changed from decade to decade and sizing differs from brand to brand. Vintage sizes may run smaller than modern sizing. "Estimated fit" is just an estimate.

Contact us if you have further questions not described above, we are friendly & try to be as accommodating as possible. We will respond to messages within 48 hours.
