Our business is born out of a passion for beautiful fabrics and love and respect for the vibrant colours and culture of India and Indonesia.
We have both been travelling and living in Asia. Our business is born out of a passion for beautiful fabrics and love and respect for the vibrant colours and culture of India and Indonesia.
We work mainly with Recycled Silk. We source Vintage Sari's from India and use them to create our silk scarf line. We share a genuine concern for the environment as well as an interest in sustainable manufacturing by using recycled silk with our popular silk scarf and sarong collection and by creating everything here ourself in our rainforest studio in the Byron Bay hinterland.
Our Rayon sarong line is made from Hand batiked Rayon, made from beautiful and feminine printed flowing rayon fabrics. We have them printed in Indonesia using a special ancient batik technique. We then cut the fabric and make them into Sarongs or scarfs.
We have an other shop on Etsy, where we sell mainly Ribbons and Textile craft supplies.
Besides selling on Etsy, we also create a mainly Silk Clothing line, which we sell on our local Arts and Craft markets. We will be offering a part of that collection next year.

Items posted outside of Australia take between 8-30 working days from the day of dispatch to arrive.International customs or postal services can however sometimes delay delivery of a parcel for longer. Since we are entering the busy holiday season, delays can be there.
We send our orders by Regular Airmail.
If you want tracking, express post, send it registered, or add insurance, please let us know and we will send you a quote.
It is extremely rare that a parcel gets lost. However, we cannot accept responsibility for parcels that get damaged or lost in the post,
if you want to be sure, please send registered.
We would like to hear from you though if your parcel did not arrive, and will do everything we can do to help you with tracking it down.
Remember that Some countries charge import tax.
We cannot be hold accountable for any duty or customs charges that may occur in your packages shipment.
We will help where we can, but cannot be accountable for any unforeseen customs procedures or import regulations.
Refunds and Exchanges
At Silkzdesign we take great care and check every item for quality before it is sent to you. It is however important to remember that our silk range is made with recycled/used silk and has unique colour variations and irregular weaves that is characteristic of natural and used fibres. It can have small spots, blemishes or pin holes.Those irregularities cannot be deemed as faulty goods.
Silk fabric should always be treated with care.
Our Batik Sarongs are printed by hand with hand block prints and can be irregular, which is one of the characteristics of Batik.
Special orders or discounted products can not be returned or exchanged.
Faulty Items - 100% money back guarantee
We will reimburse you for any product delivered to you that is faulty or is in damaged condition. If you wish to return a faulty or damaged product, you must notify us asap. If we are unable at the time of return, to replace or exchange returned goods, we will reimburse you for the amount initially debited for your purchase, including packaging and postage charges. However, items have to be returned to us within 10 days within Australia and 30 days from overseas, from the date we dispatched them to you. Refund/ exchange will happen once we have received the goods.
Exchanging items - 100% Exchange guarantee - less postage
If a customer purchases an item that is not the right size or colour, we encourage them to contact us via email to arrange an exchange. Unfortunately, this will attract another postage charge for you and no refund is given for postage. However we are happy to exchange the item for you, as your satisfaction is important to us.
Contact must be made within 5 working days of receipt of your order. Exchanges will be given if the item is unused, with all the packaging and labels intact. We will not accept items that are not received within 10 days within Australia and 30 days from overseas, from the date we dispatched them to you.
We cannot accept returns unless these conditions are met.

We are a retail business selling directly to the public. However occasionally we offer discount for bulk order's. Shops buy from us occasionally because they recognise our affordable prices and find that our products work well in their shops.
