I love this print. It has many touches that add to the interest of this image.
I love dirt.
When dirt is mixed with oil or water you get this amazing thing called clay. And when I dug my hands into that clay, it was love at first squish.
After spending nearly 30 years as a painter and internationally published illustrator, I needed a change, so I picked up some clay. The feel of clay's plastic smooshyness (yes, I did just coin that word) was so liberating. Instead of laboring to paint the illusion of the roundness of a child's fat cheek, I used my thumbs to swirl around and sweep that clay back - no more illusion - that chubby little cheek truly is round.
Ahhh... the satisfaction!
I already knew anatomy, now I was putting muscles onto armatures; sculpting fleeting glances and knowing looks onto faces, telling stories with their gestures and poses. Some of these I fire into stoneware - some of these I cast into resin or bronze.
And some of these I offer to you in my Etsy shop.
Now, it's time to head back into my studio and get dirty.

Accepted payment methods
If the unthinkable happens and your sculpture arrives damaged, please contact me Immediately (within 5 days). Please keep the original box and packaging and if possible provide a photo of the damaged sculpture and box so I can use that information to process the claim - I'll help sort it out with you for a refund or exchange.
Refunds and Exchanges
Sculpture, by its nature, is three dimensional and changes as the light that falls upon it changes. That is part of its special beauty. Since you can't see the art in person, walk around it and see the light falling upon it, you are trusting my photos to make your purchase. I understand that can be a bit unnerving.
Because I'm confident about the quality of my work, I stand behind it 100%. If you aren't satisfied with your sculpture purchase, you may return it for the full purchase price minus the original shipping charges. To return an item, please carefully re-package it in my packing material, insure it and send it back to me. You will be responsible for return shipping charges and insurance. Once I receive the sculpture in the same condition that I sent it, I will issue the refund.
