These bracelets are so dainty and pretty and yet so rustic at the same time. What a great combination! Another great piece from Kristien!

About

Handcrafted Jewelry at its Finest

I've been creating jewelry since 2006 in my own studio at my home in Upstate South Carolina. I have some formal training in my craft, but am also somewhat self-taught. I've always been creative and loved art, and metalsmithing has been a wonderful creative outlet for me. I especially love being able to make wearable art for myself, friends and family. My favorite part about my artwork is the inspiration phase. I love the first spark of an idea and how it evolves into the end result.

Everything you see in my shop is hand made by me, from the first sketch onto sheet metal to the final polishing stage. A lot of hard work goes into every piece, and I pay special attention to details in every aspect of design. I believe whole-heartedly in the value of handmade objects. When you buy handmade, you know you are supporting an individual, not a factory across the world. You can be assured that your purchase is made from quality materials, and created by some one who loves what they do. You can't go wrong buying handmade; it's a win-win situation.

One thing I love about selling my work is that I love hearing how much people enjoy my jewelry. Whether it is bought as a gift for some one else or yourself, I want it to be something special that you will always treasure and enjoy wearing. When I sell a piece of jewelry, I feel that when I was creating it, it was made for that person the entire time, and I just didn't know it yet.

In 2008, I started my first Etsy shop, and in 2010, I started Silverlode. The name "Silverlode" was inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is the name of a river found in Middle Earth. While reading the books, I thought the name was beautiful, and perfect for my jewelry business.

Growing up, I loved being outside playing, climbing, fishing, and hiking. My love for the outdoors led to studying biology in college, and pursuing a master's in aquatic ecology. I now channel my appreciation for the natural world into one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork. I love all types of artwork, and have dabbled in many artistic disciplines. However, metalsmithing has been the media to which I have the greatest connection. I feel this form of expression best allows me to create things that are not only beautiful, but also meaningful.

I love everything about the natural world, and I am continually inspired by nature. Many of my jewelry designs are abstractions of shapes and organisms found in the wonderfully rich and diverse region where I live.

Hello! Thank you for visiting Silverlode Jewelry!

I have been making jewelry for seven years, and I have been selling on Etsy for four years. I get much of my inspiration from the natural world, and many of my pieces are my abstract or representational interpretations of various flora and fauna.

I try to price my items in a way that reflects their quality and craftsmanship. I am the designer, photographer, and maker for everything you see in my shop. Each piece is given attention that you won't find in a department store jewelry counter.

I am here to provide unique, quality jewelry, and I hope I can answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
