About

Cate

In March of 2010 I opened my Etsy shop to sell watercolor paintings directly from my studio, adding quickly archival prints of a quality that imitates the originals perfectly. In the years since, I have been featured in magazines, blogs and illustrated commercial projects for Godiva, Rita Ora, Oprah Magazine, Adidas & L'Oreal to name just a few.

My work is in numerous private collections, hotels and the book "Water Color Paintings by Contemporary Artists (chronicle books)".

Back in the studio I am at my happiest experimenting with new themes - stay in touch and follow me on IG & check back often for new work & prints!

For more original artwork, I invite you to visit my shop at http://store.cateparr.com/

Cheers, Cate

I have been fortunate enough to have some great reviews out there on the www....this was one of my favourites from the fabulous Cool Hunter Blog in Australia!

Cate enhances expressions with swirling color, hinting at the tension between interior and exterior beauty, creating an intense exploration of color with a traditional medium. Often influenced by fashion’s edgier side, Cate’s Paintings are executed with watercolour and ink and delivered to the paper by unconventional means.

'Anyone who has ever attempted to master various forms of visual art will attest that watercolour painting usually turns out to be one of the most challenging.
This has not discouraged Cate Parr, a UK-born artist, who has managed to capture the ethereal, fleeting and vulnerable qualities of fashion imagery in her watercolours.
There is a dreamy, beautiful undertone, yet the images are not entirely virginal. A darker undertone, beneath the pastelly beauty demands the viewer to look closer, a quality we admire in any image-maker’s work. In today’s world of a million images a second, it takes a lot to make any of us stop and pause and really see.
Parr’s work, which has appeared in both editorial and brand contexts, hasn’t been seen in massive formats or super-brand environments yet, but somehow we envision these images appearing in enormous window displays in the world’s fashion capitals this coming spring.'

Dear valued customer,
revised Sept 20115.

IMPORTANT. PLEASE NOTE
**You may be responsible for duty fees charged at customs. These vary from country to country and are completely beyond my control.
These costs are not included in shipping. We keep packing and handling costs to a minimum, therefore helping you with custom costs if applied by your country.

**INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ~ first class shipping only. Delivery times vary greatly - but can take up to 5 weeks (worst case scenario). Please note, no tracking once shipped outside the US unless you request FedEx or UPS. Please convo me for price quotes and before purchase.

IN THE US - All orders are mailed first class or priority via USPS - please contact me prior to purchase if you need something sent quickly or with a different carrier - this is not always available.

CANVAS PRINTS are shipped FedEx Ground. Time frames for East, Central & West coast are added in shipping with every print.

SHIPPING & PAYPAL - please make sure your shipping address is correct on your Etsy invoice - sometimes there is a different address attached to your paypal account.

SMALL PRINTS 8.5 " x 11" are shipped in flat card envelopes in a cellophane cover with card backing for extra security. First class or priority (US only) unless other arrangements are made between the seller and customer.

LARGE PRINTS & ART WORK are shipped in an art tube protected in a cellophane cover and tissue paper.

ALL ORIGINAL PAINTINGS are INSURED.

My goal is to give you first class service! I aim to get your order out as soon as possible. As soon as your item is purchased - varying by item it is a 3 day turnaround.
I cannot take responsibility for lost mail but I will also do my best to replace a sale if this happens. Original art work is always insured.

My shipping rates include shipping, shipping tracking, handling and packaging costs.
Refunds and Exchanges
If your order is damaged or lost I will do my best to replace if stocks allow. I want you to be happy with your purchase however I can not accept returns if you have changed your mind. If you receive any of my work damaged I request you send me a photo as soon as possible.

Return shipping costs remain the responsibility of the buyer.

Original work is insured and tracked therefore there will be a process with USPS (this can take some time) to find out where your painting is.
Additional policies and FAQs
Museum Grade, archival paper and inks are used in all ORIGINAL ART & PRINTS.
They should be treated with care as they will last for a 100 years plus if not placed in any direct light (also bright rooms).

CANVAS PRINTS are museum quality and will last 100 plus without fading or peeling when display indoors - they should not be used outdoors at any time. They are waterproof and abrasion resistant - however - like any piece of art it must be handled with care while transporting and hanging.
Do not scrape or rub corners on any surface! Keep bubble wrap corner protectors and the poly bag around your canvas when transporting.
DO NOT put CARDBOARD on the face of your print. It behaves like sandpaper and it will rub the ink off. CARDBOARD IS ENEMY # 1.

Please note - VERY IMPORTANT: Copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist Cate Parr and are not transferred with any sale. Unauthorized use of my artwork is taken very seriously and always reported to a copyright lawyer.

Screen colors: I adjust colors in photoshop whilst looking at the original art. It can be tricky so occasionally the base color looks slightly more cream than white. Please be aware that colors vary from monitor to monitor.
