Announcement   Unique jewelry designs handmade from sterling silver - colourful gemstone rings, cute animal charm pendants and more wonderful gift ideas. I have several sterling silver rabbit necklaces, apple charms, pear pendants and acorn pendants, all originally hand sculpted. I also like to work with gemstones and create artisan rings and pendants with labradorite, moonstones, garnets, topaz, citrine, peridot and my personal favourite, amethyst. Many of the stone jewelry here is one of a kind and has been handmade on the spur of the moment. I like to create oxidized jewelry and darkening the silver but also sometimes create a shiny, polished finish.

If you have any questions about my work or the process used to make it, don't hesitate to ask me!

The shipping method used is regular mail (no tracking). If you need to upgrade shipping to include tracking, it is available for Canada ($10) and the US ($20). Please contact me to upgrade.

I am also on Etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/AndreeChenier , where you will find colorful flower jewelry, one of a kind items and gold jewelry.

Here's a new house pendant finished and oxidized
Making a house pendant, it just needs a few more details and then it'll be ready to solder.
Cleaning up rabbit castings today. These are small so soldering the jump ring on at the beginning helps me hold the piece while I work on it.

About

From Sculpting to Goldsmithing

I'm Andrée and I love working with metal. I've been making sterling silver jewelry for several years as a hobby and recently decided to drop everything and go back to school full time to pursue my passion. In 2014, I graduated from the Jewellery Arts program at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada.

My love for designing and handmaking jewelry came out of many years of sculpting in clay. I've always enjoyed sculpting in small scale but was never quite satisfied with the material I worked with. I longed for something more durable. I eventually discovered Art Clay Silver and Precious Metal Clay (both clays get heated and result in fine silver) and soon decided to expand my horizons by taking classes to learn how to make jewelry . I was officially hooked!

Many items in my store have been first handmade out of wax and then cast in sterling silver. Such pieces, like the rabbit necklace or the apple pendant are then finished by hand to a beautiful satin finish or to a high polish finish. Oxidation is also sometimes used at the end of the process to darken the sterling silver and help bring out the sculptural details. Another silver jewelry-making technique used is fabrication (sawing, filing and soldering sterling silver sheet, wire or tubing) to create new pieces from scratch, embellishments and settings for stones.

People sometimes people ask me if they can have a piece gold plated instead of sterling silver. When this happens, I bring my piece to a local jeweller who in addition to making beautiful products, offers plating services.

  • Casting House

    Toronto, ON

I use a local casting house to do most of my molds and my castings. In fact, it's so local I can walk there! Their customer service is great and even if things get very busy for them during peak seasons, they're always friendly and welcoming.
