Simone Walsh is a contemporary jewellery maker whose intricate and eco-friendly jewellery is handmade in the Adelaide hills and worn by people all over Australia and the world.

Her interest in making jewellery began over twenty years ago when Simone became intrigued after stumbling across a piece of simple but unusual jewellery.

“I decided to try to figure out how it was constructed and after a few hours with some wire and pliers I was hooked and wanted to learn more!” Simone said.

Simone began her jewellery making career in her home town of Adelaide, where she initially began teaching herself some jewellery making basics way back in 1992.

Soon after she decided to undertake full time study in this field, ultimately completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a Jewellery and Metal major at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney.

Twenty years after getting started Simone’s jewellery business is now a full time concern. Her designs are sold to customers all over the world via her website and other online outlets. She also sells through a select number of retail stores around Australia and at occasional designers’ markets.

Her jewellery is all genuinely handmade by Simone, who individually makes each piece in her Adelaide hills studio. None of Simone's work is made by simply assembling mass-produced components.

Simone uses metalwork techniques to create her jewellery, such as intricate saw-piercing, etching and gilding. Favourite materials include sterling silver, gold and gemstones.

Most of the precious metal used in Simone's designs is recycled and she aims to operate an eco-friendly business.

Simone said, “It’s not always easy being a self-employed craftsperson, but it is very rewarding work. I’m very happy to be doing this for a living twenty years after first getting started.”

--- About delivery ---
Items generally ship from the Adelaide hills in Australia. I post items by Australia Post Airmail for deliveries outside of Australia and Parcel Post within Australia.

Please generally allow 1-2 working days for the item to be sent and a further 2-10 working days for delivery, depending on your location.

Delivery within Australia takes approximately 2-6 business days and to the US between 3-10 business days.

If delivery is in Australia and you opt to upgrade to Express Post, delivery is usually next business day in Adelaide and surrounds. In other parts of the country delivery will be as soon as possible.

--- Tracking ---
All Australian deliveries now have tracking available should there be a problem.

Deliveries to the US, UK, NZ, Germany, Ireland and Singapore also now come with tracking.

Tracking is not currently available to other destinations, however, post from Australia is reliable and missing or delayed orders are rare.

If you wish to track your order please get in touch at selling {x~at~x}

--- Customs and import duties ---
Please note that I have no control over and cannot be responsible for any customs fees or other duties which may be applied to your order by officials in your country. If you have any questions, please check with your local customs organisation.

However, in my experience it's rare for my customers to be charged customs and import duties.

All of my customs forms are labelled as 'fashion accessories' for jewellery purchases. I am not able to mark the forms as 'gifts' as they are a legal document.

--- Packaging ---
All deliveries are posted in sturdy mailing boxes.

In addition, all jewellery pieces come in a lovely jewellery gift box which is made from recycled card covered in a textured white paper. Care instructions are included with each piece.
