Announcement   Several of my quilts were featured on Manufacturing Marvels® that showcased longarm quilting machines manufactured by Gammill . youtu.be/_PkD0bk2zLU
The first white/brights star pattern is not mine, all the others are quilts I've made.

This shop is a mix of all my sewing interests. A place to share with others...quilts, pumpkins, bow ties...oh my ! All items handmade by me in my home in the Ozarks. I have an affinity for farmhouse quilts - those that use vintage, antique, remnants and thrifted fabrics, much like my Grandma Lena used in her quilts. I had the privilege of attending the Country Living Women Entrepreneurs event in Chicago a several years ago and was able to "pitch my product" (several of my echo quilts) to some of their editors. I've even had one of my quilts published along with instructions of how to recreate your own, you'll find photos in my blog - - http://simpledream2.blogspot.com/ Specializing in homespun cottons, cotton batting, vintage fabrics, old buttons, and zippers. I especially like to use old fabrics to recycle or upcycle. Proud member of Team EcoEtsy, Farmhouse Treasures Team and Handmade by ME Team.............please read policies.

I just received my quilts. I LOVE them!!! Lisa was able to take all my mid matching t-shirts and make them into a beautiful quilt. She was a great communicator and wrote me with updates the her timeline. She also sent me pictures to get my thumbs up before she moved forward with design. It was overall a wonderful experience. I am so happy! Thank you Lisa you are a beautiful quilter and a thoughtful and conscientious business professional.

This improv quilt is being quilted with a straight line design to enhance the modern look. These squares were created with scraps of t-shirt knit from recent custom quilt orders. Recycled in the truest definition.
Custom full size t-shirt quilt fresh off the Gammill long arm quilter. Hope the sun shines long enough for me to get good photos of it finished. If you are interested in a memory quilt of your own, let me know. I would be happy to help you make memories.
I've set up my sewing in the great room to enjoy the warmth of the wood stove. Being iced in today I'll be sewing the next memory quilt. Watch for photos when it's done.

About

I have always had a simple dream...........

...of sewing for a living.

I am an award winning, published maker of quilts.

My grandmother, Lena, made quilts that have traveled the world. My mother, Sarah, made my clothes and instilled the love for sewing in me at an early age. I've been sewing since I was a kid, starting with doll clothes, then moving on to my own clothes. For my 8th grade graduation I gave my mother very specific instructions of what I wanted in my graduation dress, she then turned to me and said, "well then, do it yourself"................ and I did. Thus began my love of fabrics and sewing, I bought my first new sewing machine while I was still in high school and began sewing for others. I got more into home decor and crafts after I got married and set up my own home because it was more fulfilling, and less expensive, to create my own things. While my children were young I stayed at home and started a sewing business where I sewed custom items for several interior designers and a couple of local shops.

You know the saying "Whoever dies with the most fabric wins", well I don't want to win. Now I craft my favorite items to share with others on Etsy..........Enjoy!!

Simple Dream quilts is located in the Ozarks, off a two lane country highway, down a gravel drive, nestled in the woods. My view every morning, with a cup of coffee in hand, are the chickens in the field out front or the woods out back.

Fall is my favorite time of year, pumpkins, golden leaves, pumpkin bread, soup/stews, rustic rye bread, camp fires, wood stove heat and the making of many quilts during the Fall and Winter.

Be sure to check out new quilts here and at simpledreamquilts.com

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I make custom and personalized memory and t-shirt quilts.

Do you outsource your custom orders?

No, all custom quilt orders are made by me. I cut, arrange and quilt your memory quilt in my home studio on my Gammill long arm quilter.

Custom and personalized orders

I use cotton or poly/cotton quilt weight fabric for the sashing/framing, border, back and binding. The color range is decided by you the customer thru convos.

Custom and personalized orders

Turn around time depends on the number of quilt orders I have on the calendar. You are kept informed as to when I can get your quilt started.

Once I start your quilt I can usually create your custom quilt within 2 weeks, from start to finish. I have a "day job" that gets in the way of my sewing.

Custom and personalized orders

I ship USPS priority 1-3 day, insured with signature required for delivery. The cost to ship depends on the weight of the quilt. Past shipping has been $25 - $38 to US addresses.
