I have always had a simple dream...........
...of sewing for a living.
I am an award winning, published maker of quilts.
My grandmother, Lena, made quilts that have traveled the world. My mother, Sarah, made my clothes and instilled the love for sewing in me at an early age. I've been sewing since I was a kid, starting with doll clothes, then moving on to my own clothes. For my 8th grade graduation I gave my mother very specific instructions of what I wanted in my graduation dress, she then turned to me and said, "well then, do it yourself" ......... and I did. Thus began my love of fabrics and sewing, I bought my first new sewing machine while I was still in high school and began sewing for others. I got more into home decor and crafts after I got married and set up my own home because it was more fulfilling, and less expensive, to create my own things. While my children were young I stayed at home and started a sewing business where I sewed custom items for several interior designers and a couple of local shops.
You know the saying "Whoever dies with the most fabric wins", well I don't want to win. Now I craft my favorite items to share with others on Etsy..........Enjoy!!
Simple Dream quilts is located in the Ozarks, off a two lane country highway, down a gravel drive, nestled in the woods. My view every morning, with a cup of coffee in hand, are the chickens in the field out front or the woods out back.
Fall is my favorite time of year, pumpkins, golden leaves, pumpkin bread, soup/stews, rustic rye bread, camp fires, wood stove heat and the making of many quilts during the Fall and Winter.
Be sure to check out new quilts here and @simpledreamquilts posts on Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders
Yes, I make custom and personalized memory and t-shirt quilts.
I do NOT accept returns of any custom order. Once your custom quilt is made it is yours, I am not able to resell it.
If any custom order is cancelled before your custom quilt is started there will be a $25 cancellation fee deducted from your deposit. If you have already shipped your t-shirts/clothing to me and then you have changed your mind I will return your t-shirts/clothing to you and cancel your order. You are responsible for the $25 cancellation fee and the return postage cost (USPS, insured and signature required for delivery). Your deposit (minus $25 and return postage) will be refunded when you confirm receipt of the returned t-shirts/clothing via convo.
Do you outsource your custom orders?
No, all custom quilt orders are made by me. I cut, arrange and quilt your memory quilt in my home studio on my Gammill long arm quilter.
Custom and personalized orders
I use cotton or poly/cotton quilt weight fabric for the sashing/framing, border, back and binding. The color range is decided by you the customer thru convos.
Custom and personalized orders
Turn around time depends on the number of quilt orders I have on the calendar. You are kept informed as to when I can get your quilt started.
Once I start your quilt I can usually create your custom quilt within 3-4 weeks, from start to finish. It does take me a bit longer to create your memories because I have a "day job" that gets in the way of my sewing.
Custom and personalized orders
I ship USPS priority 1-3 day, insured with signature required for delivery. The cost to ship depends on the weight of the quilt. Past shipping has been $25 - $38 to US addresses.
