Every aspect of this transaction was splendid fun. I sent Simpsonelli a hand-drawn design and within a few weeks he had delivered exactly what I had envisioned. Even in professional project mgt circles, few deliverables hit the bullseye like this Robin Hood experience. Communication, comprehensiveness, professionalism, patience, generosity, kindness - all these come to mind. Specifically impressive, and crucial for a custom design like this, is that first idea drafts were specified with language; Before there was a drawring, he got it. Imagination is priceless! When the strap arrived, I was blown away. It's a beautiful result of a true craftsman's infusion of excellence at every juncture. Bravo!

After giving Mr. Simpson my wrist measurement and a vague idea of what I was looking for I put my faith in his creative talent and was not disappointed. The cuff he fashioned for me far exceeded expectations. The quality of the craftsmanship and the design of the piece are testimony to the skill and creativity of it's maker. I couldn't be happier and plan on approaching Micheal in the future for all/any costume leather work.

A tactile avenue for my artistic passion

My name is Michael. I live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I was, and still am, a professional musician for many years before I began working with leather. I run a recording studio, compose for film, do session work with various bands, and I also teach. I've always been a composer and into writing my own material. Music is a great avenue of expression for me, but when I got into Leathercraft, I felt a whole new kind of excitement because I got to work with my hands and create tactile things. Music is wonderful but somewhat intangible.
I got into crafting leather goods in 2008, through my girlfriend at the time. She was running a successful artisan business of her own, selling her line of leather goods. When trade shows and fairs would come up, she needed help in the manufacturing process, so I jumped in and started helping her out. At first it seemed like a lot of work, and the simplest things were daunting. But as time went on, I found myself more and more interested in working with leather.
I recall noticing at the time, at all the sales we would work at, that there were always too few accessories for men. And I was always interested in having more options that way for myself, so I started making things that I wanted to wear and use. Next thing I knew I was delving deep into it, began apprenticing with another friend who had a successful business doing leather work, and then started doing my own shows and sales.
I make my leather goods with a love for being creative, and a desire to fill some niche for somebody who is looking for it out there, somehow. I want my accessories to make people happy, and I build them with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship that should bring a lifetime of good use to those who acquire them.
