The ladies at SincerelyLouise are true gems. They provided the most amazing customer service, going back and forth with me about a million times to ensure I would have the perfect anniversary gift for my husband. They even embroidered a special orange heart on the dino for me. When the tracking info for my shipment was no longer being updated, these ladies followed up to make sure everything was alright and that I received my dino safely. Can't recommend this shop highly enough. Would definitely purchase again!

About

Sincerely Louise

Sincerely Louise began in 2011 as an instagram account documenting my personal knitting projects.

Whilst studying commercial photography at university I learnt to knit and truly caught the bug. I began hand making props for the fashion editorials I was shooting, most famously a series of wigs known as 'Wooly Head', which helped launch my career once I graduated.

After leaving university I knew becoming a photographers assistant wasn't for me. I'd preferred making the props throughout my last two photographic projects and found myself knitting instead of looking for work. During that time, the internet discovered my 'Wooly Heads' and my work was featured by online newspapers and blogs across the world. Enquires started flooding in.

I was soon commissioned by Boden to make six faux taxidermy pieces for their A/W 2013 press day at Somerset House. These British beasts included the fox, badger, deer and rabbit which would eventually become my first set of knitting kits. I also started pattern designing for magazines and was commissioned to make more woodland critters.

Six months later I received an exciting call from David & Charles, who were interested in my work and a potential collaboration. I spent the following eight months designing and photographing projects, the results of which can be seen in my debut book, Faux Taxidermy Knits.

After finishing the book, I spent time concentrating on my own pattern design and began working on releasing kits, which made their debut at the 2014 Knitting and Stitching Show. I've since been featured by Mollie Makes, The Telegraph and on the Etsy homepage.

I'm currently working on new designs and kits, so watch this space!

Sincerely,
Louise x

My item hasn't arrive, what should I do?

If your item hasn't arrived that makes us as upset as you and will do everything we can to get you knitting ASAP!

Firstly we'll ask for you to check your local delivery office to see if it has arrived and is being held. In most cases of undelivered items the orders are returned back to SL HQ marked 'not called for'.

If you item has been lost in the post then we'll send another one out to you. In accordance with Royal Mail's lost item policy Sincerely Louise can only send the replacement order 10 days after it's due delivery date for UK orders, 20 days after it's due delivery date for European orders and 25 days after it's due delivery date for Worldwide orders. We recommend choosing a signed for service so we can track your item.

Can I order your items as gifts and send them straight to the recipient?

Yes you can. You can add in the note section if your order is a gift and include a special message too. We'll include the order receipt but not any of the prices. We currently wrap each kit in tissue paper. We do not offer a gift wrap service.

Which kits would you recommend for beginners? Will your kits teach me how to knit?

We'd recommend one of our easy knit scarf knits, like the fox, panda or bear. These kits include tips for beginners throughout the pattern and only use the 'knit' stitch. Our unicorn scarf is also very easy, but does not include the beginner tips. If you can knit, purl and decrease we'd recommend one of our hat kits.

Our kits won't teach you how to knit but are designed to be fun and simple knits. We're currently working on our first set of Youtube videos so watch this space. We're always happy to point you in the right direction of our favourite learn to knit videos in the mean time.

Can I buy your kits as finished pieces?

We can offer our knitting kits as finished pieces, just drop us a message with what you're interested in and we'll see what we can do.

Please note that we do charge accordingly per piece and that they are not 'cheap' to buy. We'd always recommend buying a kit and seeing if you have any friends or relatives who can make it up for you.

Can I sell the finished pieces I make from your kits and patterns?

Sincerely Louise does not allow for customers to sell finished pieces from any of our kits, digital patterns or book patterns. All our patterns are for personal use only and feature a copyright notice which states they cannot be used for any commercial purpose without permission from the copyright holder.

This is our policy because we've spent a long time establishing ourself as an independent brand. We feel when people sell our finished knits it undervalues the business and the hard work spent designing the patterns. We love it when our kits being gifted, be it to a crafter to make, or a finished piece to friends or family, but it breaks our heart seeing a finished piece being sold and our copyright ignored. We hope you understand.
