All that I said above PLUS the presentation...perfect! I am going to reuse the wrapping on a gift for my friend and shamelessly take all the credit. Thank you thank you! ~kc

Oh Katherine! These are PERFECT. I got them to hang in our newly re-done bedroom. I love how they symbolize "home." I may have to send you a photo once they're framed. SO thrilled. ~kc

adventures of a daily daydreamer...

"I was trying to daydream but my mind kept wandering."
- Steven Wright

I love this quote! This is pretty much how I feel most of the time. Luckily my camera is in agreement, so off we go on daily adventures chasing dreams and getting sidetracked.

That's how I discovered photography to begin with - trying to figure out how to use a new digital movie camera that also took still photos. I used my very orange, very old cat, Sunny, as my subject. I followed him around the house on my hands and knees for half a day, documenting his every move. It was thrilling material, as you can imagine.

My photographs are influenced and inspired by many many things but mostly by a firm belief in how life should be - full of flowers, full of love, full of detail. I like to tell little stories with my pictures because I think it adds another dimension to the art. Sometimes these stories give you behind the scenes insight into the subject matter, other times, it's just a flight of fancy that I hope makes you look at life in a slightly different manner.

I am legally blind in my left eye. Some people say that explains a lot about my style. I don't know about that so much, since this is the only way I've ever been able to see. I was often referred to as "the girl with her head in the clouds" when I was small and I fear I've never really grown out of that. My handsome husband assures me that's really cool though.

In addition to photography, I also do freelance graphic design and, currently, I'm at work on a novel which I hope will one day be considered "brilliant," but would settle for just seeing it published in a book that I can hold. In my hands. With real pages that I can turn.

Thank you so much for spending some time in my shop. I feel so lucky to have been featured here:
