Announcement   Sixty Beans is an eclectic boutique, dedicated to making Shabby Chic Decor from used and vintage items. I specialize in upcycling old and worn, wood, metal or glass objects and transforming them into a unique Shabby Chic item for you! All handmade pieces I list are individually produced by me, and are one of a kind. I also mass produce some items with new supplies, in the same colors or finishes for large quantity orders.

All items in my shop have been lovingly cleaned, restored, given a facelift, crafted, etc... to offer new to you, "freshly brewed" satisfaction. I am currently expanding my handmade/crafted shabby chic chalkboard and frame sections. I also have an ever growing selection of fabric, both new and old, milk glass vase sets, and gold tone frame sets. These work well with and match my overall theme. Many of my shabby chic and vintage items would work well for weddings, showers, or other events. I love the challenge of custom orders. If you don't see it here, or are trying to put together a specific look/style for your home or event, contact me and I would gladly work on creating just the right look for you.

About

It's never too late to be what you might have been

I have been a crafter/artist wannabe all of my life. As a little girl, I loved to draw, paint, create... but those instincts were not encouraged, and in fact discouraged as frivolous. Early in my marriage, I dreamed of someday owning my own business. When my girls were little, I started making dough art ornaments to sell at local craft shows during the Christmas season. It provided a little extra cash, and gave me a creative outlet. Once my youngest daughter was in school, I needed to make more income, so pursued another love of mine... coffee. I began working in a local coffeehouse, and fell in love with the idea of opening my own. I even had a name picked out "Sixty Beans", based on the story about how Beethoven would count out 60 coffee beans each morning to make a perfectly strong cup. Alas, that dream never developed and I settled into working various jobs to keep enough monthly income going.

A few years ago, I was encouraged by my oldest daughter to start an Etsy shop as a fun way to make a little extra money. I love vintage things, and enjoy the process of finding them. I also would be able to try my hand at crafting again.... the idea was exciting. I decided that I would combine my original business idea name with my new endeavor... using Sixty Beans as my Etsy shop name with the tagline "freshly brewed vintage and more"... grab a cup of coffee and take a virtual tour! I struggled through the first 6 months, and then things really started taking off. I got more into creating shabby chic decor items, and saw an increased interest in my shop! I longed to be able to quit my day job, stay home and just work at my business. Then a huge curve came when I developed some back problems. One thing led to another and I ended up having surgery... then being laid off from my job. I threw myself head first into fine tuning this shop, adding to my artistic abilities... and starting up a new shop with my daughter. I am now working at Etsy full time and loving it!

Welcome to sixty beans, I hope you are enjoying my shop! I'm working to build a business here that truly fulfills my soul's desire to be an entrepreneur, and also my passion for treasure hunting and crafting. Nothing thrills me more than to sift through a sale - or even someone's free box - and find disregarded items that are valuable. And of course, value beyond monetary. These things are part of our past, tap into our memories, and speak of times and days which have helped shape all of our lives. I also love the creative process of making something new out of a collection of materials. I strive to represent my items honestly, and price fairly. If there is ever question or dissatisfaction, please let me know immediately.

You should be able to see these options at checkout. If there are any questions prior to purchase, please convo me. I check my Etsy shop often throughout the day and will respond quickly.
Shipping
All items are shipped via USPS or Fedex Ground. Please keep in mind that bubble wrap, paper and tape are all very expensive and for larger items may be included into the cost of shipping. Shipping charges are based on the average it will cost for the weight of the item plus packing material. If you would like to have the shipping calculated exactly for your location, just contact me prior to purchase and we will gladly discount the amount listed if appropriate.

Ready made orders are shipped within 2 business days, but USUALLY the next day, unless we am in a time crunch. MADE TO ORDER items normally are processed within 1-2 weeks and shipped once completed. If you have a time sensitive order or need something rushed, we can do that. Please contact us AHEAD of making your purchase to find out if added postage charges will apply.

For packages that are RETURNED TO US as UNDELIVERABLE or UNCLAIMED, the buyer is responsible for paying postage again to re-send. The cost paid for postage is used once it comes back to us. We will refund the purchase price of the item upon your request but not original shipping. This also is only an option if the item is still in good condition. Sometimes when a package has traveled twice in the same box, damage may occur. I am not responsible for this damage.

If you feel that security may be an issue when packages are delivered (such as being left on your doorstep if you are not home, let us know prior to purchase and we will include charges for "signature required". That way it cannot be left unattended and possibly stolen. Without this service being added, we am not responsible for the safety of your package at delivery.

We are happy to ship internationally, though costs have risen a lot, and keep in mind that especially heavy items will often cost more to ship than the price of the item itself. If we do not have the international shipping costs on the listing and you are interested in that item, just send us a message and we will be happy to figure it for you. International shipping costs do NOT include taxes and customs charges. These are assessed by the country of the recipient and will need to be paid by you upon receipt of the item. We do not know what these will be, nor have a way to look it up for you.
Refunds and Exchanges
We describe items clearly and are honest about their condition. We take photos in natural light and adjust color in an editing program as needed so that it will be as accurate as possible. Keep in mind that computer monitors vary in how they adjust color. If you have any question about our description, it's condition, or the color... be sure to ask prior to purchase. Refunds are not generally given for reasons such as you decide you don't like it or just changed your mind. There may be situations where if the item is unsatisfactory to you we will accept a return, but those are decided on a case by case basis. In those cases, we will refund the purchase price of the item but not original or return shipping, once we have received it back in good condition.

FOR CUSTOM ORDERS and MADE TO ORDER items there is no return policy. These items have taken time and supplies specifically to produce that item for you. If an item was damaged, it will fall into the same rules and policies as any other damaged item. If you are unhappy with the way that your custom item turned out, we hope that you will understand that while we will work with you as best we can to rectify the situation and make sure you end up being satisfied, by purchasing a custom/made to order item, you are instilling a certain degree of trust in our artistic ability.

In the case of damaged or broken merchandise, we will require photographic proof of the damage AS WELL AS ANY VISIBLE DAMAGE TO THE BOX OR PACKAGING. we need this in order to file a claim with our shipping carrier and re-coup losses if possible. If the damage is too small to show up in a photo, chances are we will not offer a refund for your purchase.

Items that are severely damaged will either be refunded in full or a partial refund may be in order in some cases. These refunds are decided on a case by case basis.
