About

Skeins in the Stacks, is a book-themed yarn line developed by a yarnie librarian (That's me!).

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Skeins in the Stacks.

My name is Anna Hernandez. My family and I live in a small, coastal Alaskan community; ensconced within the most beautiful rainforest in the world. When I am not homeschooling my boys, taking care of pets, wandering in the woods, or working as a librarian; I am reading or listening to books while I knit, and thinking of which colorways to dye next.

Skeins in the Stacks, is a book-themed yarn line developed by a yarnie librarian (That's me!). Combining my love of books and fibers, I have created interpretive yarn colorways inspired by my favorite stories.

I believe in the power of books to influence and shape lives. I have tried my utmost to pour the essence of each book into the fibers I have thoughtfully dyed for you here, and sincerely hope you enjoy them.

My yarn has been featured in the loveliest handwork shop ever: "The Net Loft", located in Cordova, Alaska (http://thenetloftak.com/); as a yarn of the month club yarn for "Darn Knit Anyway", located in Stillwater, Minnesota (http://www.darnknitanyway.com/), and on the Never Not Knitting blog and podcast by the wonderful Alana Dakos.

If you would like to hear my full story, please have a listen here:
