Adore this dress - selfies aren't doing it justice. Fabric is a great weight, the fit is excellent for an hourglass figure and accentuates my waist at exactly the right point which almost no commercial dresses do. Best of all, the pockets are lined with the space fabric - And, I feel like Ms. Frizzle which is literally my dream. You can adjust the zipper for how much cleavage is comfortable for you, and again I can't emphasize how good the fit is.

Skeletons in the Closet is an original clothing line handmade in Boston, MA. Every piece is designed, drafted and sewn by me, Sophie Kaplan.

As an artist as well as a fashion designer, I'm always looking for ways to combine my art and clothing, whether it's hand dyeing garments or getting my drawings printed onto fabric. Even when I'm not creating my own textiles, I love to mix different colors and types of materials to create depth and texture in my designs.

I get a lot of inspiration from the darker side of fashion, but I still love color and sparkle. My aesthetic is a part goth, a part psychedelic hippy, and a bit of flirty girly-girl thrown in as well.

I love to create clothing that is comfortable and feels good to wear, for all shapes and sizes, and I'm always happy to make custom garments to fit your exact size. Contact me for details.

Sizing details

All made to order garments include a size chart in the listing photos that shows the chest, waist, and hip measurements for each size. Garments are true to the sizes listed in the chart.

Pre-made garments list the measurements of the finished garment.

I'm always happy to make a garment to your exact measurements for no additional charge. Send me a message and I will give you a list of measurements needed and instructions on how to take them.

I'm happy to make plus sizes, but I require the buyer's measurements for any size above US 18. Please contact me for more information.

Care instructions

All garments are machine washable.

Any hand dyed items should be washed on a delicate cycle in cold water and dried on low heat.

Please read ITEM DETAILS before placing your order for any additional care instructions that may apply to specific items.

Custom and personalized orders

I'm happy to create custom orders. If you would like a custom size made to your exact measurements, send me a message and I will give you a list of measurements I need and instructions on how to take them.

Many designs are available in additional colors. Please contact me BEFORE PURCHASE if you would like a garment made in a different color and I will let you know what other colors are available.

I'm also able to make alterations to my existing designs (for example: different neckline, longer/shorter sleeves, pencil skirt instead of circle skirt, etc.) Please contact me for details. Additional charges may apply.

I will NOT copy another designers work. Please do not ask me to recreate a design that you've seen elsewhere.

How quickly will I receive my order?

Shipping times vary from listing to listing. Please make sure you check the shipping and processing time of the specific item you are purchasing before placing your order.
