About

Ian Finch-Field of SkinzNhydez

Canadian made Ian Finch-Field grew up in an artistic family. Starting out at a very young age making piggy banks and comic books, which grew into wood working and metal working. In 2008 Ian started in leather, shortly after SkinzNhydez was born. A unique craft of leather, brass, and found objects. An original take on the "Steampunk" genera. Every piece Ian makes is a piece of wearable art.
In 2010 Andrew Jones asked for a unique piece for his short film, "Dr. Glamour", which appeared at many events. Also in 2010, Ian's works where featured on multiple pages in the book, "1000 Steampunk Creations".
In 2011, Winning an award of best in category in the wearable art fashion show, in Victoria, BC, Set things in motion, set his goals higher. Shortly after Justin Bieber was wearing one of SkinzNhydez Pieces, a full Steampunk style Gauntlet in the music Video, "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" for the Movie, "Arthur Christmas".
It's 2015 and the sky is the limit! Many new creations, mediums and Ideas are just around the corner for this lone worker at SkinzNhydez.

CARING FOR YOUR Leather piece.
The leather masks are quite durable. When storing them, keep them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. The worst enemy is water, as the masks will soften and distort when wet, so don't wear them in the rain, in the pool, or in the shower. Heat will dry them out and make the leather crack. No regular maintenance is required. If they become soiled, wipe with a soft cloth.

Every couple years apply Minks oil to hydrate the leather.

Each piece is made by hand and Per order. It takes time to make and do not have stock of every piece I have listed. Please order ahead of time and be patient. One cannot rush art!
