Our Story

Who actually says that camera bags should be primarily functional and cannot also be regarded as modern design accessories? We definitely don't. Therefore, we have developed a solution that proves the opposite. With our premium camera wrapping cloth Rappu (inspired by the Japanese word ラップ for "wrapping") we set new standards in the camera accessories industry. Made of environmentally friendly materials, produced in Berlin.

The name slō (phonetic transcription for "slow") stands for the appreciation of time and the individual moment. With the launch of Rappu, our vision is to develop slō into a sustainable brand. We want to equip photography enthusiasts with knowledge and camera accessories as well as sharpen their eye for conscious photography.

With Rappu, we have created a wrapping cloth with outstanding design and universal applicability. Rappu can be used for a variety of objects and, thanks to its shape and low weight, is extremely suitable for everyday use. The combination of minimal design aesthetics with high-quality materials and fresh color palette makes Rappu a modern quality product.

We offer Rappu with 3 different types of leather for the outer fabric: Rhubarb mountain tanned leather and 2 vegan leather alternatives (Piñatex and AppleSkin). A pleasant feel as well as a certain degree of strength and flexibility are given for all materials.

The inner fabric is soft, smooth to the touch, luxurious in gloss and is made of 100% Tencel. Tencel is a heavy woven fabric with a visible structure, obtained from renewable wood sources in a sustainable, closed loop process.

The print for Rappu was designed by illustrator and textile designer Steffi Bauer and printed on the Tencel using an environmentally conscious printing process in a European printing facility. The printing facility carries the GOTS certificate.

Our design and business structure are based on the following values:

Transparency
We offer insights into our pricing, materials and manufacturing processes. This also means that we talk openly about the fact that some of the materials used for Rappu still have weak points. But instead of hiding these weak points, we are aware that the optimization of our product is a constant process and we like to share our journey with you as a community.

Fairness
We behave fairly towards the people who work with us, who work for us or who buy our products. This includes transparency at all levels, fair salaries and respectful cooperation.

Sustainability
We take responsibility for what, how and where we produce. We have a sustainable vision for our company and strive to minimize waste and surplus. Our mission is to use socially and environmentally acceptable materials for our products. A responsible use of resources is important to us: from the selection of fibers and materials, to the selective request of samples, the avoidance and reuse of fabric residues, to the use of environmentally friendly packaging material and cooperation with a sustainable shipping service provider.

Timelessness
In times of fast fashion and excessive consumption, we clearly position ourselves against the fast pace of the accessory industry and are committed to timeless, trend-independent design. We want to create durable products that are decoupled from trends and that remain with buyers for as long as possible.
