Stay At Home Mom Turns Passion Into Business

I am a family historian who has always loved older, vintage things, ESPECIALLY JEWELRY, but how much does one need??

It started with my desire to stay at home with my children. Marrying and having children later in life, I had collected many vintage and antique things. They were boxed away, not being enjoyed. In an effort to make a little money, and clear out some things, I started selling some of my collections at a local antique mall. I loved it, but found it difficult to go back and forth to the shop with children in tow. Now, I am exclusively on-line, and loving it.

I am thankful for my supportive husband, who understands my passion for giving these treasures a new home, and my desire to find new treasures and offer them to you!

The name SMALL TOWN VINTAGE SHOP, is an idea that, someday, I will have a small town vintage shop. The antique photo is my great, great grandmother Mary Patterson.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders

Returns and exchange details
My goal is for your full satisfaction and to create a relationship where you want to return and shop with us again.

We provide measurements, weight (when applicable), a full description indicating any flaws or damage and plenty of photos in each listing to give an accurate representation of our pieces.

All items are antique or vintage and will show some level of wear due to age and prior use.

The following are instructions for requesting a return:

1. The buyer must communicate via Etsy "Convo" or email through Etsy about any concerns about an item purchased within 3 days from delivery (as determined by delivery tracking). The item must be shipped back within 7 days from when the return is authorized by the seller. It is the buyer's responsibility to open the package and inspect the product in a timely manner.

2. The buyer pays all shipping costs. If there was a significant error on my end, I'll pay for it.

3. Please return the item in the gift box and/or bag sent. Returns should be shipped with delivery tracking. Please provide us the tracking information following shipment. We highly recommend the purchase of insurance as buyers are responsible for the risk of loss or damage.

4. All items must be returned in the condition they were in when sent. Items authorized for a return/exchange that are received back with any altering or damage that wasn't already existing or discussed when initiating a return, will not be eligible for a refund.

Shipping
Please make sure you have the correct shipping address in your Etsy transaction because this is the address I ship from. I do not ship using the Paypal address.

SPECIAL NOTE for Overseas Customers.

*Depending on the invoice total of your purchase, I may contact you regarding an increased shipping cost that will include insurance and tracking.

*It is against the law to falsify CUSTOMS FORMS, please don't ask me to break the law. I won't do it and will cancel your order. Sorry.

*Customs taxes and understanding your country's Customs laws are always the buyer's responsibility.

*If I am concerned that your purchase will be in question, detained, returned to me or destroyed in customs, I will contact you, refund your money and cancel your order.

Below is my GOOD TO KNOW personal opinion/explanation of the USPS tracking system. Again, you can always contact me if you are concerned. I am only writing this because sometimes, it's "good to know", especially if you are concerned or unhappy about how long it is taking to receive your package.

First, you can track your purchase under (upper right-hand corner) "YOU" then "Purchases". Click on your purchase then click on the tracking number to see where your purchase is in the process. Of course, again, you can always contact me if you are concerned.

The information below is based on my experience and knowledge of the system.

The USPS tracking system will show up to 11 lines of tracking information. Information on USPS tracking sometimes changes, I don't know why, other than the system only has 11 lines, and sometimes a package has more than 11 points or transactions before arriving at the destination. For example, one line might show "arrived in customs", then at a later time, it may just show "in ((your country))", the line about being in Customs is gone! I don't know why this happens. Sometimes it says delivered when it's not, sometimes it says it's in transit when it has been delivered. Sometimes the package doesn't show any transactions for days! And on top of that, there is no delivery time "guarantee", just "approximate" delivery times.

If it appears that there is no activity for what seems like a reasonable time, I go to USPS.com, under tracking a package, and request that I receive a text or email be sent to me when the package goes through another point (or line), transaction on the system.

Please don't hate the sender (me), I do everything I can to get your package out quickly, safely and insured. Thanks. (-:
