Introduced at a young age to the timeless handicrafts of knitting, sewing & crochet by my Mum and both of my Grandmas, I haven't looked back since! My love affair with creating as much as possible grows daily. The handmade community is an incredible one and I feel so blessed to be in the company of other makers who share with, inspire, and support one another.
Smash Knits had its humble beginning making warm accessories to gift to friends & family. A decade after opening shop and knitting up a storm for orders & markets, the toll marathon production knitting was taking on my body dictated I change directions.
In 2018 I shifted gears and began offering handdyed wool, as well as notions & supplies. This new chapter has reignited my passion for making, and allowed me to indulge in other means of crafting while still satisfying my need to work with yarn. It’s also been such a pleasure to truly embrace the art of “slow stitching”.
In 2021, my partner Norm came on board as we expanded. We are looking forward to what the future holds in store for Smash Knits!
