Bret has shared this photo of their amazing version of Abayomi the Agama Lizard. They have used a heavier weight yarn to make a bigger lizard, and doesn’t it look fantastic?

You can make adorable amigurumi too!

Hi, my name is Victoria and I am the designer, maker and owner of Smiley Crochet Things.

My goal is to make super cute amigurumi patterns that have clear and detailed instructions so that you can make adorable amigurumi too. I include many step-by-step photographs in all of my patterns to try to make it as simple as possible to follow the instructions. I often annotate my photos too so that you can see exactly which stitch I am highlighting and what you have to do. Some of my patterns do include stitches and techniques that are a little more challenging, but as I always include lots of detail, you should find that with a little bit of patience you'll be able to do these techniques like a pro!

I am always trying to push myself with my designs, to think outside the box and maybe apply a technique in a different way so that there is always something new for you to learn as you follow my patterns. Something else you should know about me is that I'm not a big fan of sewing pieces together, so I try to crochet in as many of the bits as I can. If you are someone like me who prefers to crochet than pick up a sewing needle then you've come to the right place!

I write all my patterns with both British and American crochet notation. It takes the stress out of trying to convert a pattern to your preferred notation if I have already done the work for you. Both PDF files will be included with your purchase, so just download the right one for you and then get crocheting.

Please don't hesitate to contact me about anything. One of my favourite parts of my business is getting to chat to my customers and helping you in any way that I can. I am always available if you are having a problem whilst making one of my patterns. I love to help make the instructions clearer for you if I can, so please don't sit and struggle or give up, just ask. You can message me by using the contact button on my shop page.

Thank you for visiting my shop today.

I began crocheting several years ago, learning through watching youtube videos. I absolutely fell in love with amigurumi toys, and now I get to crochet for hours a day as my job and it makes me so very happy!

Frequently asked questions
Are patterns available in other languages?

No, I only provide patterns written in English. However, I do provide two versions of each pattern, one using U.K. and one using US crochet terms.
