Like many Etsy shop owners, artists and people everywhere, this Arthur Ashe quote defines the beginning of Wiley Party Co. (formerly Smiley Wileys).

When the little Smiley Wileys were littler and still wanted big basement birthday parties, it went without saying that we would make our own decorations. And so, using what we had on hand (Books! Lots and lots of books!) we began creating decorations for the many different themed parties the little smiley ones requested: Rockstar, Underwater Princess Mermaid Castle, Halloween Costume Parties, Backyard Camping Almost-Sleepover, Super Hero!, Crazy Neon Circus Carnival… to name a few. Then friends started asking for decorations, and one thing led to another and all of a sudden I had an Etsy shop!

Now my book garlands are hanging all over the world! I have shipped party packages to Australia, France, Italy, England, Spain, Belgium, South America, and almost every state and province. I have sewn thousands of garlands and enjoyed every single one. I've made myself a little shop in a storage room located behind our furnace and it's quite cozy and not at all as creepy as it sounds.

When I’m not sewing paper for parties, or taxi cabbing the (not so)mini Smiley Wileys, I’m drawing colouring pages, walking our crazy dog, hiking, camping and Instagramming (it's fun! Come check me out: instagram.com/thesmileywileys)

Important information you need to know (aka: my disclaimer): We recycle lots and lots of things… so your order of garlands will be packaged in recycled and recyclable materials. We also love books, and we will never ever use new books, rare books or books in perfect condition. We only use books destined for the bins!
