Much can be done with love, especially if so delicately hand made. More difficult, if not rare, is the warm feeling I get with this cowl, like a friend who is with you just when things get cold. I have bought quite a few of these and each time as a gift for a beloved. And each time the gift was, quite honestly, very well received. I heartily and unreservedly recommend it!

Another beautiful Cowl ... the best on Etsy ,,, excellent quality, and made with love and skill!
Knitted Accessories inspired by Washington, DC.
In 2007, I decided on a whim to learn how to knit while I recovered from a major surgery. I watched tons of online videos and taught myself a few tricks, thinking it would help pass the time. I then promptly fell in love.
With the encouragement of friends and family, I opened this Etsy shop, SmokingHaute. When deciding on the theme of the shop, I realized that, to truly represent who I am, I should combine my new passion for knitting with a lifelong passion: my home, Washington, DC.
It was also important to me to demonstrate that my love for this city does not render me shortsighted, so I pulled in another one of my passions: finding ways to help bring clean and safe drinking water to the developing world. That is why a percentage of my proceeds from all blue colored items will always go to my favorite charity in the whole world, charity: water.

DC is more than where I live or where I'm from - it's who I am. When I decided to start up an Etsy shop after finishing my MA, there was no doubt in my mind that DC itself would be my creative inspiration.
