Announcement   In The Smoky Mountain Kitchen you will find a variety of treats including my favorite recipes, homemade goodies, jams and jellies, handmade napkins and table linens, handmade aprons, vintage cookbooks, vintage kitchenware and anything else I can find "from the kitchen". Pull up a chair and join me. We will pour a cup of coffee to go with my "out of this world" Cream Cheese Poundcake by Ms. Lois, a favorite family recipe requested by everyone for their special birthday cake. I will be featuring some old family recipes on this site that have been requested by friends for years. I have been cooking since I was a teenage bride, many years ago. We have hosted birthdays, Sunday dinners, nightly dinners, Christmas Eve parties, wedding feasts, family gatherings and just good old food and conversation around the dinner table. Many fun hours have been spent in our kitchen and we look forward to many more. Join me in The Smoky Mountain Kitchen.

About

Comfort From the Kitchen

Smoky Mountain Kitchen began with my love to cook and my love to sew. My husband and I raised our kids in central North Carolina. We treasured our time around the dinner table. My favorite hobby was sewing. After our kids grew up and left home, we moved to the mountains of North Carolina where I began my career in making pottery. Our business grew and my time at the sewing machine was reduced to making cloth napkins for friends, family and myself. I love to use cloth napkins at the table, whether it is a casual dinner for my husband and me, or for guests and family.

I had many requests for my pound cake recipe and decided to give it a try on Etsy. It has been a hit. I have had many compliments on my pound cake and other recipes.

Recently, my husband and I moved to the Rockies of Montana to be closer to our kids who migrated west after serving in the military. The love of the Smoky Mountains remains with me and I will continue with Smoky Mountain Kitchen. I hope to add more family favorite recipes as well as kitchen items and napkins.

Come join me for a cup of coffe and let's chat about family and comfort food. Stop by any time.

**When time permits, I also list my pottery items at www.backcreekclay.etsy.com. My daughter in law has recently decided to join me in my pottery and crafting business. I look forward to her new Etsy shop that is forthcoming.

Smoky Mountain Kitchen is the result of my love to cook and my love to sew. I am a full time potter, newly relocated from the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina to the Rockies of Montana. I love the mountains and the comfort of my kitchen.
