My name is Emma, and this is my small business journey!

When I was in third grade, I drew our family's annual Christmas card. The response was OVERWHELMING from family and friends and I began drawing our card every single year. Once I was 12 years old, I was ready to begin my own small business. I created a line of cards to sell at my dad's office and a couple local stores. Now, over 15 years later, I am still pursuing my Snail Mail dream by selling right here on Etsy!

My process has changed greatly throughout the years. I used to hand draw each individual card, which would take a very long time, and sell them for $1.00 each. I then began getting my drawings copied at a local print shop to save myself the countless hours drawing cards. After learning how to use photoshop in high school, I was able to scan my ink drawings into the computer and color them digitally for a much more crisp and clean drawing. I am now exploring digital drawing using my iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and Procreate.

I am so excited to begin my printing journey now at home! This gives me complete creative control over the paper stock, the ability to edit colors on the fly, and so much more. I hope you like the new, refreshed version of Snail Mail!

My journey has led me to exploring products outside of just cards, like stickers, pins, shirts, and more!
