Announcement    My name is Anita and I am a dressmaker, bag maker and habitual stitcher!

I have been sewing since I was about ten. Over the years, I have made clothes and dressing up costumes for myself and my family.
I have also made house hold items like cushions, curtains, bedding and throws. Chairs and stools have been recovered and up-cycled.
I recently needed a bag for a wedding and I just couldn't find the right one; so I made my own and was hooked!!
So I branched out from dressmaking into creating handbags and purses to sell. Everything I make is individually handmade-made so each one will be slightly different; you will never have two the same (unless you want them to be!) This is especially important with dresses- you will never turn up at a party to find someone in the same one!!

Custom orders are very welcome, so please feel free to message me via Etsy to ask for details and prices.

•DECLARATION

All items are made by me, in my little studio, one at a time, so may take time to produce. Please allow for this when you place an order. I never buy factory made items to resell like some of my competitors who claim to stock handmade! Although I have quite a few items in stock that are ready to post, custom orders are only made after payment is received.

I use both new and up-cycled fabrics and so I clearly state if items are up-cycled; for instance my Welsh wool blanket and wedding dress silk items.
I use my own designs for personalised orders which are individually crafted to your specifications.
I am really looking forward to working with you.

PLASTIC USE
I occasionally send out items in plastic bags or packaging. Rest assured, the plastic is reused packaging that has been sent to me. I am not going to buy new plastic padded envelopes or plastic bags once my supply has run out.

Information I Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
• as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
• when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
• if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

• Business transfers.

• If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law. Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.

Your Rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

• Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.

About SoAnitaSews

Sales 520
On Etsy since 2017

I am a dressmaker, bag maker and sewist who loves to make handmade items that are original and beautifully finished.

I have been sewing since I was a child, firstly making dollies clothes and cushions

and then eventually my own dresses from eleven or twelve years old.
I earned my first money by sewing a fancy dress costume for a neighbour when I was about fourteen!
When we were first married, I upcycled clothing and fabrics I bought for pennies in jumble sales and charity shops. It's very fashionable now so I was well ahead of the game!!!
My proudest moment was seeing my daughter and her five bridesmaids walking down the aisle in dresses I'd made for them. I also made my own mother of the bride suit.
I also made smocked, silk christening gowns and bonnets for my twin grand-daughters which have been used several times since then!
I make my own curtains and cushions and up-cycle old stools and chairs to match my colour schemes.
I love using luxury fabrics and pride myself on the high standard of the finished items; I can't stop working on something until it's just perfect.

I adore creating and sewing bags, purses, clothes, furnishings and toys for my family so it was an easy decision to make to open a shop doing just that!
