About

Hand Made With Tender Loving Care And Attention To Detail

My love of knitting and crocheting started in 1971 while pregnant with my first child I taught myself how to knit a baby sweater. In those days we, of course, couldn't find out whether we were carrying a boy or girl so I chose baby green and a complicated pattern for an inexperienced knitter. The sweater turned out really good so I was off and going with more knitting and crocheting. For some reason I was always making things for other family members. Anything from baby booties, sweaters, blankets, tablecloths and rugs.

Fast forward to 2001. I started hand knitting socks after bringing my two Haitian born babies home. Two girls ages 2 months and 12 months I was really busy. However I could carry a sock in progress on a small circular needle easily so the knitting continued. Family members and friends wanted socks and I could not keep up with hand knitting and found an antique Canadian Auto knitter for sale then a while later I purchased a P.T. LeGare 400. After one of my sons helped me get it going I was able to make custom socks. One order led to another. I then started attending craft fairs with socks and other things I had knit and crocheted.

Early this year I decided to ramp things up. My daughters are starting their Freshman year in high school. Good timing to attend more events and spend time establishing an online shop.

I like to use mostly natural fibers and search online for best quality buying in bulk when necessary to keep prices down for the consumer. In addition to American made yarns I purchase from several other countries. My favorites in addition to Merino wool are Alpaca and Angora and Kashmir goat fiber. Bamboo cotton blend yarn is also one I like to use.

I enjoy making custom items and solving Foot pain issues for people by providing the right socks for them.

I love how people smile when putting their socks on for the first time.
