About

Soffitta

"Soffitta" means "attic" in Italian. But it's also a theatre term in many languages; expressing the ceiling where stage curtains hang from. I chose this name for my shop because it references to my stage and costume design specialty and also Italian heritage of artisan mask making.

I've always had an interest in Venetian masks since my childhood. So after many different professional experiences on visual art and commercial design, decided to share my creations on Etsy.

All masks on Soffitta are handcrafted by myself; there are no partners or assistants. Finishing a mask may take up to two or three days. It's a long process compared to mass production but with this way I can keep all these creations one of a kind. After decoration every mask gets its own character. And creating a unique masquerade mask makes me happy a lot. I hope you enjoy them too and choose one of them for a special event of your life.

Payment
Following your order placement, you will receive an email from Shopier, which is integrated into Etsy with the Etsy API for payments. You can pay via “Pay Now” button in this email.

This expense can be seen as “Iyzico” or “Shopier” in your monthly credit card statement. These are the legal names of payment processor.

Shipping
Processing time starts after payment's cleared.

If you buy a "Ready To Ship" item, your order will be shipped with DHL/UPS on following business day after purchase. Tracking number will be included in shipment notification email. Since I use an express service delivery takes 3-5 business days depending on destination. Please check tracking page once a day before delivery for noticing early any possible problem while your package in transit.

Processing time can be longer for "Made To Order" items. For this info please see listing details.

Delivery will be made by signature so if there is not anyone at the address when courier arrived, they will not leave the package at your door. In this case you will see this note on tracking page: "Delivery attempted, recipient not home" If this happens you can simply call DHL call center and arrange another visit by them.

Sometimes courier needs some clarification about the address and notes that: "Address information is needed, contact DHL" as tracking status. This doesn't mean that your address is written wrong, it just means that you need to tell them -for example- "this number is for my apartment and that one is for building" or "that E is for East" etc. You can fix it simply by calling DHL too.

Please include your contact number while placing your order. It will make easier to contact you for DHL / UPS and prevent any possible delays on shipment date.

Also you can always feel free to message me if you need any assistance for delivery.
Refunds and Exchanges
I guarantee to present clear and explaining photos of the item, secure packaging and quality control before shipping. On any problem, please message first, then I will try to solve it. In case of returning request within three days after delivery date, you will be able to get the payment back when item got back to me in undamaged and unused condition. Otherwise unfortunately I can't take any item back, because masks are kind of products worn on face and a worn item wouldn't be usable again for someone else. Shipping costs are unrefundable unless incorrect shipping caused by me. In case of damaged item during shipping, clear photos of the damage are necessary.
