Affordable gemstone jewellery

The idea behind Solid Rocks is budget-friendly jewellery that is still showcasing real stones: semi-precious gemstones, rocks, pearls, shell, real things not resin costume jewellery. But affordable.
Each piece is carefully designed, as that is why I do it, for the enjoyment of playing with interesting stones and pearls, and seeing what happens with each parcel of objects. Sometimes nothing happens and they go back into the drawer, but other times they organise themselves into combinations that work, and that results in a necklace. If there's any stones left over, earrings happen!
Most of the pearls and rocks come from the big gem fair in Salt Lake City, Utah, every winter. It's held over three days and is exhausting to attend but fantastic as well. The range is mind-blowing.
I buy the other ingredients mostly from local Australian suppliers, and this is where I keep the prices down, by using pretty and useful clasps, wire, joiners, chain etc, rather than the premium sterling products that can hike the prices of the finished pieces right up.
Sometimes I order things direct from China, particularly when they are much cheaper than buying locally, but mostly I can get what I need from Australian businesses.
I sell at very select markets around the ACT Region also.
