It's been amazing so far...

I feel I have been blessed with a very charmed life! I was lucky enough to have two parents who were very skilled with their hands and they passed their love of crafting onto to me. When I was 5 or 6 my father gave me a crystal and ruby ring - it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and it was made specially for me (actually it was perspex and glass ;-) I think this is where my love of hand crafted jewellery came from.
Life happened and during that life I was able to travel quite extensively and have been lucky enough to live and work in Europe, Asia and West Africa. In these places I was always drawn to the crafts and have been left with some amazing memories and ideas.

I learned silver-smithing about 15 years ago, although I only dabbled in it for many years, but then about 5 years ago I started trying to sell, and that’s how I ended up here. My life now revolves around a computer, a lot of silver pea pods, the most wonderful beautiful man in the world ( who calms my soul and makes me smile), two cowardly affectionate and lazy fur bags (some would call them cats) and my studio. My studio is where I feel happiest, picking up a shapeless piece of silver and forming it into something to wear, I don’t know that I will ever get over the thrill of that.

Welcome to SomethingxtraSpecial.
My name is Sue, I'm very tall, quite British and an Aquariian with a need to express my creative side, which for me is in the fiddly world of jewellery making and designing. I tend to veer towards nature and the sea as these are the things I want to affect my life the most.
If you need any further information or have a question, I'm more than happy to help.

Returns and exchanges
If you change your mind before the item has been posted, I am happy to cancel the sale as long as I am notified before shipment (I post within 1-3 days more often than not within 12 hours).
If for any reason whatsoever you are not delighted with your purchase I offer a no quibble money back guarantee on the following conditions:
I am informed within 3 days of receipt of the item, and it is returned in it's packaging and in the same state that it arrived in.
I accept paypal. I respectfully require payment at time of order unless a communication is sent to explain, otherwise I will contact you and ask if you wish the sale to be cancelled.
Please pay latest within 24 hours of making your purchase - the quicker you pay the quicker I can get it to you. If you have any problems please get in touch within this time, otherwise the sale will be cancelled in order for me to get a refund of charges incurred by the sale.

Due to the many problems of cheques I now only accept paypal and credit card payments - I do apologise if this causes you problem.
Please be aware that I use UK Royal Mail first class mail, this IS NOT track and traceable (which is very expensive). Due to the many problems and unreliability of Airsure (The pseudo track and traceable option Royal mail offers) I now do not offer it, apologies.

(just a small PS, track and trace on the UK side only tracks until it leaves UK waters, after that there is final notification that it has been delivered but it cannot be tracked along the way. It costs a lot more, therefore I do not use this unless it is requested.

I use Royal Mail small packet / letter airmail delivery outside UK and 1st class mail inside UK. Items are posted Monday to Friday, it is not possible for me to post on Saturday, therefore anything ordered Friday will be sent on Monday.

I charge the minimum I possibly can for postage in order to keep the prices of my jewellery to the absolute minimum. I I do not make a penny from the shipping. (In fact often exactly the opposite)
All items will be sent inside a padded bag.

I have two postage rates I use:
small packet post ; 1) for the oddly shaped items that need protection. items come wrapped in tissue, placed inside a gift box. 2) as before but for rings which come in a lovely ring box.

Insured: From UK item insurance is very expensive and can add up to $12+ to the postage. I don't use this automatically but if you would like your item insured / signed for on receipt then please contact me and I will add this option to the item.
Same goes for Airsure. This is a service that gets a signature on delivery and is trackable (in a limited way - see above). If you would like this it will cost an extra $12.00. Please convo me. UPDATE 1st May 2013: Apologies but I am not using this service in the future, I (and my lovely customers) have had too many problems with it, costs more and ensures nothing).

If you want the item delivered to a different address than the payer please just ask - not a problem at all but do be aware you will not be covered by paypals terms if anything goes wrong.
Additional policies and FAQs
I ship from the UK. Please be aware whether you have to pay duty. I put the full value of the item (not postage) on the customs declaration form.

If anything hasn't been covered above please ask. I check email daily so will get back to you within 24 hours.

I am very careful with the sizing on my rings, and politely ask you to be as well. If you are not sure of your ring size then I sell disposable ring sizers in my shop
If you purchase one and then order a ring, please let me know and I will refund the ring sizer price from your order.
I will resize a ring if it is my mistake at my cost, if however I have been given the wrong size, I will willingly resize but I do charge $10 plus postage.
