5 out of 5 starsThis was a gift for my wife and she really likes it. Very nice quality and design, really like the fact that it stands upright for easy visibility and access to the interior. Great for students and stationary lovers!

Pretty Christmas packaging.
♥ The online repository of a chronic button bug and fabric fancier ♥
Small, but perfectly formed, is probably the best way to describe the Song of the Seam headquarters.
I make everything you see, from start to finish, using my Pfaff sewing machine. I also like to get creative with my Cameo Silhouette cutting machine which I use to make the vinyl decals on some of my items.
I possess far more fabric than any one person should ever have. Really. It's just too hard to resist!
One of the most precious objects in my sewing room is a set of blue wooden Sylko thread drawers that once belonged to my great-grandmother. I lugged it all the way from New Zealand to the UK because I couldn't bear to leave it behind and now it has pride of place on my sewing table. It has a whole lot of wooden spooled threads inside it with utterly fantastic names like 'parrot blue' and 'gladiole red'. Far more evocative than modern-day thread nomenclature like 365 or 779!
Song of the Seam is the place to find unique handmade fabric crafts; from home decor to zipper pouches, passport covers to key fobs.
I like to use mostly natural fabrics, such as linen and cotton, and I do like a splash of colour - which you'll soon see when you browse the shop:

Hello! My name is Melanie and I quite like to sew! I live in Horsham, West Sussex but am originally from New Zealand. I enjoy playing the piano and am just a teeny bit partial to a good period drama.
