I love sewing with this luxurious Barrameda fabric by William Yeoward. It's a thick, luscious cotton that travels so smoothly under the needle. Yum!
Just in! We have a handful of these lovely, bright modern geometric print pencil cases. Made from fabric remnants left over from our popular make up bags. This fabric is no longer available so we're excited to be able to use up the last few pieces!
November = time to break out the Christmassy packaging. Brown paper packages tied up with (sparkly silver) string are definitely among my favourite things!

About

So much fabric, so little time!

Small, but perfectly formed, is probably the best way to describe the Song of the Seam workroom. The most precious object in my little sewing corner is a small set of blue wooden Sylko thread drawers that once belonged to my great-grandmother. I lugged it all the way back from New Zealand with me after one visit and now it has pride of place on my sewing table. It still has many of the original cottons inside; some of which have fabulous names like 'parrot blue' and 'gladiole red'.

Everything you see in the shop is made by moi from start to finish (with the help of a couple of sewing machines). I'm just a little bit addicted to fabric shopping and am always on the eye out for beautiful materials that I know will create something special.

Hi, I'm Melanie! I'm a New Zealander who moved to the UK a few years ago. I used to work in a very dull office job but now I get to spend my days immersed in piles of fabric, jars of buttons and spools of ribbon....bliss!
