5 out of 5 starsI had to communicate with Dawn multiple times due to the failure of the USPS. She absolutely took care of the screw up caused by the Post Office and sent out replacement covers since I never received the original ones. Dawn took care of the situation all while dealing with a home emergency as well! I'd highly recommend purchasing from her shop!

I am Dawn Frasier, Tiki Artist. I live and work from my mid century modern home in West Seattle. Having a home based studio that produces marketable works is a dream come true. I couldn't imagine working any where else. I find that the work builds on itself. The designs of primitive South Pacific traditional art forms inspire me to no end, from original works to fabric design. The product lines seem to evolve naturally.
For many years I have worked exclusively on my paintings which have been received with solo shows in high profile galleries and magazine covers. Becoming an established figure in the subculture of tiki art has fed my confidence to pursue my ideas beyond just paintings. A few yrs ago I started designing vintage inspired Hawaiian print fabrics . Years of scouring fabric shops to make my own clothes always left me feeling unsatisfied with the choices available. The fabrics led to Sophista-tiki togs. Sophista-tiki Togs led to other people buying yardage to make their own retro inspired clothing.
This year I embark on home decor. Countless hours of research have shown me the need for some very basic items that don't seem to exist for the tiki modern enthusiast. Stay tuned for the launching of RUGXOTICA, Hand Tufted Retro Rugs. RUXOTICA rugs, all hand made right here in my home studio . Old school materials and techniques combined with my original designs with matching Sophista-tiki fabrics available here on Etsy as Pillow covers.,
