Wife, Mom, and Artist (at naptime)

I have sketched and doodled for as long as I can remember. Growing up I much preferred filling my school notebooks with doodles and drawings instead of taking notes. My teachers may argue that it wasn't necessarily helpful, but I truly believe it's one of the most important things I did for myself ;)

Fast forward to my college days majoring in Interior Architecture. This was in the hey day of TLC Trading Spaces and I was obsessed! While I did love interior design and spent several years in the commercial design field (lots of time space planning offices...), it was never my true love.

Then came marriage and babies! It's been amazing being married and seeing my three young boys grow and learn. So much so that I decided to leave my job and stay at home with my kids. I spend most of my days loading (and unloading) the dishwasher, taking walks with the stroller, playground visits, and tripping over toy cars. It's awesome.

But one thing I hadn't done in a while was pick up a pen. It had been years! Then last fall my friend moved into a new home so as a gift I drew her a house portrait. One thing led to another and I started doing more for my friends... and then people I didn't even know started contacting me for their own piece of art. That led to me opening up this shop! It's been a whirlwind YEAR, but I trust that God has put this in my path- He is getting me back to a part of who I am and what I'm supposed to be doing (in between diapers and naptime of course) and I could not be more thankful.

I always said that I would love to just sit and draw all day for a living. While I'm certainly not making a living at this, it's been a true blessing to get back to the drawing board. I hope I can work with you- please know that I pour my heart and soul into every piece I make.

I'm a wife and stay at home of three young boys. At the end of the day there is nothing more relaxing to me than sitting down with a pen to draw, a HOT cup of (decaf) coffee, and a podcast playing in the background.

Frequently asked questions
What materials do you use? Do you use watercolor?

My favorite materials to use are ink and marker. They give my drawings a vibrant and rich feel- similar to watercolor but just a tad different to stand out.

Are digital options available?

Digital options of your portrait are available. Please send me a message to discuss.

Can you draw any kind of pet?

Of course! While dogs are the most popular, I'm always open to new pet portraits. They're my favorite subject to draw!
