Sow's Ear clothes are not made to standard sizing. I usually make things as big as I can depending on how much fabric I have. It is usual for me to fit a garment to the buyer, but that is rarely possible by post. If you are interested in an item, please include your bust, waist, hip and shoulder to floor measurements in any inquiry message so I can see if it will fit, or has scope to be adjusted to fit you. It's difficult to give measurements of bias cut garments as the same dress will fit a size 8 and a size 14, it will just look different, being shorter on a curvier form. I try to leave extra fabric in the seams so garments can usually be let out and made at least an inch bigger. Most alterations are easily done by any seamstress. Particularly for wedding dresses, it is wise to expect to need a fitting from a seamstress local to you. I am happy to include guidance for adjustments.

Returns and exchanges
If you don't love your Sow's Ear garment, and don't want to go through the alteration process, I am happy to refund you. Please let me know as soon as possible that you have decided to return it. You have 14 days from receipt of your purchase to let me know if you wish to return it. Two weeks is ample time to decide. After that length of time I assume all is well and if you wait longer than that my heart will break.
Please return items using a secure postage method. If the garment doesn't arrive home safely, I cannot refund you. Refunds will not be given on items which have been altered in any way. Postage is non-refundable.
Shipping
I always send things by International Signed For. It is secure, trackable, and requires a signature on delivery. Though sent items usually reach the country of destination within 4 days, customs can delay the parcel for up to 3 weeks but I have never known this to occur. If you require faster delivery it may be possible by courier. Please ask if you require this service.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items are handwashable. I never dry clean anything. As long as the wash and rinse temp. are about the same, wool and cashmere shouldn't shrink. You can even wash the sheepskin gilets should you need to. Do it in cold water with no detergent, and allow it to dry naturally. It may be a little stiff once it's dry, but it will soon soften up again with wear.
For the knit wear, if you snag it , or pull a thread, take the time to poke it back through to the inside. If you tear a hole in it, or start a ladder, don't be shy about patching it. If you can't find an old jumper the same colour to cut up, think about shortening the dress itself, or levelling off an asymmetrical point. Use the off-cut to mend the hole. Your dress will be a little different, but evolution is natural...and if you love it, allow it to live and change. Keep it going if you can. You can always send it back to me for a little service if you can't do it yourself.
Bobbling, or pilling is natural on knitwear. The fluffier the garment, the more bobbles will occur. It's just a result of friction. Think of the garment as your pet, and the bobbles as mini dreadlocks. Take time to brush or groom your pet-sweater. Pick them off while watching a movie, or sitting on the train. It will look good as new when you've bothered to do it!
