As a child I was endlessly creating things, my mother would dread the aftermath of Blue Peter on tv when I would require bin loads of trash and miles of sticky back plastic. I also loved to draw, and would especially like to draw natural subjects, animals, landscapes, flowers......
Life took over, poor art teaching at high school squashed my creativity and I lost faith in my ability to make anything special.
In the summer of 2014 I lost my brother suddenly to a heart attack, and lost a little bit of myself. As the shock subsided and the grief progressed I began to practice mindfulness in an attempt to help me to live in the moment, and to stop obsessing over memories. I rediscovered my love for drawing, and will often doodle away to quieten my mind!

Then one evening in 2015 I needed some jewellery for an outfit, but couldn't find what I wanted anywhere. I realised that I had the picture in my head, and that I wanted to try to make it for myself.
I enjoyed it so much that I started making presents for my family and friends. Soon I had become obsessed, and my collection of beads, stones, chains and bits was taking over the living room! I had to sell some of it, or buy a bigger house to accommodate my growing stash!
I have sold some of my jewellery and decorations at craft fairs and events, and some through my Facebook page, I stock several bricks and mortar shops, and now my etsy shop is becoming established. All my pieces are handmade from scratch, so no two pieces will be exactly the same. I intend to keep it that way because I feel that a unique piece of jewellery is so much more special than something mass produced.
I still love nature, and I think this is evident in my work which is heavily inspired by the natural world.
I live with my husband, three children, two cats, one dog and a coop of chickens, so although it is often chaotic, I wouldn't have it any other way!
