Announcement   August 11th news - some things have disappeared from the shop while I do a little 'liquidation', they'll be back in bulk packs of 'bead soups' and paper packs, so if there was one special thing you were planning on getting, convo me and I'll see if I can pluck it from the stew! Otherwise hold tight, there are some fantastic bargains coming next week as I work to eradicate my entire bead stash! (well most of it, some precious we keeps foreverrrrr....)

Welcome to Sparrow Salvage Studio! An artist's 'salvage yard', I offer assemblage supply and other things of curious interest, almost all vintage or antiques. Buttons, lace, beads, found objects, trim, fabrics and bits of 'neat old junk' my family calls 'Victorian rubbish' (affectionately I'm sure).

Great item. Not sure what to do with it yet... but it's really lovely and I'm sure it will be used soon in one of my projects.

Gorgeous beads. Can't wait to transform them into a pair of earrings. Thank you!

About

salvaged and found

Sparrow Salvage has been a long journey. I’ve been making ‘Victorian tribal’ assemblage jewelry for 8 years now, but after a car accident 5 years ago and a 'realignment' of my creativity I find myself on new paths, just as exciting and full of potential.

I no longer make jewelry for this shop and will soon be moving on to bigger projects, so this has become a kind of estate sale for my studio purging. I consider it my purpose to provide supply that is both beautiful and unusual. My jewelry work was made by salvaging material such as 1930s metal tins, antique handmade lace, found objects, reclaimed vintage beads and buttons.

This passion for reclamation is due to a lifetime of 'make do and mend' instilled in me since childhood. For me it is about the challenge involved in looking at a cast-off item and finding a way to get something useful from it. This is either easy - like reclaiming beads from a broken necklace - or something trickier like charms made from old toffee tins. I also offer found objects, buttons, lace, beads… some are ripe for your own creative projects, some are perfect just as wonderful things to admire.

Follow my Instagram for updates and new arrivals; I do like to take pretty pictures of things before they go out into the world!
